Mingdaw Upper and Senior Secondary School is a co-educational school established in 1997 by the Mingdaw Cultural Center in Taiwan.

Though run by a Board of Governors set up by The Gambia Government At the end of the 9th grade students take The Gambia Basic Certificate Examination and at the end of Grade 12 the West African Senior School Certificate Examinations in Science, Arts and Commerce. The medium of instruction is English.

Seasoned educationist and administrator, Mr Lamin Danso publishes Research Papers with a reputable African Journal.

From The Central River Region of Boraba known as the village of Light to Mingdaw Upper and Senior Secondary School, a career educationist Mr Danso, shines brighter like a morning star.

He is a sports enthusiast and teacher who bags: Primary Teachers' Certificate, Higher Teachers' Certificate, Diploma in Management, Bachelor’s degree in Geography (Hons) and Masters of Education in Administration and Management, December 2024, (UTG).

In his quest for research and contribution to knowledge production and problem solving, Mr Danso alongside Omobolaji Olufunmilola Akanbi(PhD) and Mr Lamin L Kanteh published a research paper with The African Journal for Behavioral and Scale Development Research, AJB-SDR on The "Influence of Sports Facilities and Professional Qualification on Sport Participation Among Secondary School Students in Region II, The Gambia".

In a similar milestone, Mr Lamin Danso and Prof. Joshua Olesegun Peleyeju of UTG alongside lead author Mr Lamin L Kanteh of University of Education The Gambia (UEG) published another Research Paper with the same Journal (AJB-SDR) on "Investigation Into Motivating Factors of Secondary School Teachers’ Level of Discipline and Job Effectiveness in Brikama Cluster, The Gambia".

These publications sought to provide sustainable solutions, encourage a more robust research and add to the country’s growing academic spectrum.

We are saddened at the tragic death of one of our students, Yankuba Darboe of Grade 8. He was involved in an accident resulting to his instant death yesterday.

The Admin and Staff pray for his soul to rest in Jannatul firdaws and extend condolence to the bereaved family.
