Founded in 2002 by a dedicated and persevering Muslim, SUQS emerged with limited resources. Our school was born out of a need identified by the Founder, Ustādh Umar Abdallah Ceesay (Hafidhahullāh) in the Gambia: a scarcity of institutions providing comprehensive Quranic and nonspiritual education. SUQS extends its mission through the operation of The Islamic Institute for Orphan Education & Develo

pment (IIOED) in Siffoe Village, Kombo South. This orphanage serves as a nurturing home, dedicated to providing Free education and development opportunities for orphaned children.

The Islamic Institute for Orphan Education & Development (IIOED) on Saturday 13th May 2023 held its Annual Quranic Recitation at the Ophanage in Siffoe Village in Kombo South.

The event which was well attended by parents and guardians, members of the surrounding communities, scholars and students saw the skilful recitations of the orphans most of who have memorised the Quran.

Ustadh Omar Ceesay, the Proprietor of the Centre thanked all attendees for their company to the children whose upbringing he said should be a duty of all. He thanked the staff of the Centre for their dutiful to the teaching and mentorship programme to prepare the kids in becoming responsible in society.

Imam Ceesay explained the purpose of the Centre as a humanitarian intervention directed to the needy and vulnerable persons, according to the command of Allah.
