Sheikh Uthman Anglo-Arabic Academy Ends Term with Fun Activities

Sheikh Uthman Anglo-Arabic Academy concluded the second term with a celebratory event before the final days of Ramadan leading up to Eid al-Fitr.

Students participated in a fun-filled extracurricular activity featuring quizzes, games, and showcases of artistic talents.
The staff ensured a joyful environment, allowing students to learn from each other, interact, and create lasting end-of-term memories.

The school will resume classes on April 15th, 2024. Insha'Allah.

Sheikh Uthman Anglo-Arabic Academy Celebrates Successful Iftar Event

The Sheikh Uthman Anglo-Arabic Academy community came together on Friday, March 29, 2024, for a successful annual iftar event held at the school grounds in Busumbala.

Staff, students from all grades, and some parents joined in sharing a delicious meal to break the fast after a long day. The event echoed the spirit of Ramadan and fostered a sense of community within the school.

We are grateful for the continued support and encouragement from parents who help us provide our students with a well-rounded school experience.

Reception One Learns About Fruits!

This week, Reception One has been on a fruity adventure! They've been busy exploring the world of fruits, learning not only about their delicious taste but also their different varieties, classifications, and even how they can be used.

Their teacher, Aunty Haddy, has been delighted to see the children's active participation in these lessons.

But what do you think they might do with all these yummy and healthy fruits after learning about them?

School Fun Day: On Thursday, 29th February 2024, the school administration treated the primary school students to a fun day trip to the beach.

This picnic fulfilled a promise made by the headteacher last year who pledged to organise a fun day for the students if they continued to perform well in their studies and maintain positive attitudes.

Students and staff enjoyed the day together, with activities designed to promote learning beyond the classroom. Teachers ensured a variety of food options, beach games, and opportunities for student interaction and engagement among them.

The cool breeze from the River Gambia added to the enjoyment of the day.

Our Parent-Teachers' meeting held on Saturday the 20th of January 2024 was a resounding success, fostering collaboration between parents and teachers to address issues for the development of the school.

The celebration of our growth from Nursery 1 to Grade 4 was the highlight of our commitment to a holistic English-Arabic curriculum.

Acknowledging the dedication of the teaching staff and the inclusion of teacher-trainees from Gambia College, the meeting emphasised SUAA's dynamic and enriched learning environment.

Key points included the adoption of comprehensive student assessments, updates on the Boarding Programme, dormitory enhancements, and collaborative efforts with experienced volunteers and Amanah officials.

Plans to formalise the Parent Teachers Association (PTA) were adopted with parents encouraged to participate in electing a chairperson.

The meeting also addressed financial challenges and emphasised the importance of a dedicated development budget for future growth initiatives.

Ms, Jariatou Badjie, Headmistress of Sheikh Uthaimeen Anglo-Arabic Academy (SUAA) expressed gratitude for the collaboration of parents and staff of the school on the journey of growth and excellence.

🎓 Graduation Celebration at Our Nursery Section! 🎉

We are thrilled to announce that we hosted a momentous graduation ceremony for our nursery section, marking a significant milestone in the school's history on Sunday 18th June, 2023 at the school campus in Busumbala. The event was attended by proud parents, guardians, and well-wishers, who gathered to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our young learners.

The ceremony commenced with an inspiring speech by our esteemed Headteacher, Ms Jariatou Badjie who warmly welcomed everyone present. In her address, she emphasised the school's commitment to excellence and assured the continued dedication of the administration in providing a nurturing learning environment for our students.
“We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the parents, staff members, and partners who have been an integral part of our journey. It is through your unwavering support and collaboration that we have been able to create a vibrant educational community at Sheikh Utheimeen Anglo-Arabic Academy (SUAA)’, she said.

The Director of the school, Sheikh Omar Ceesay expressed immense pride in witnessing the fulfilment of a dream—the provision of quality education to our community. He acknowledged the collective efforts of the entire school family in making this dream a reality. Looking ahead, he shared his vision for further accomplishments and assured everyone that the school will continue to strive for excellence in all aspects of education.

A highlight of the graduation ceremony was the recognition and celebration of our deserving students.
