Bricks-for Brikama Foundation is a non governmental, non profit, charitable organization based in Brikama Town, Kombo Central, West Coast Region, The Gambia. The foundation was formalized in mid-2020 through the efforts of local residents of the area in collaboration with counterparts in the USA and Netherlands. Historically, this noble foundation started by provisioning quality educational materi
als to needy students over the years, most predominantly, targeting pupils in the Lower Basic Students who live in vulnerable households and whose parents lack adequate basic facilities to support the children education. Bricks-for-Brikama foundation has started giving out school bags and books to students at Kassa K***a, and Kabafita Lower Basic School for the past years, and hopes to continue this practice at other schools in need. The main aim and objective of the foundation is to complement government efforts in education and agriculture (provisioning community development works, educational support to children at younger stage, supporting sustainable smart agriculture and mainstreaming other burning issues that affect indigenous life such as combating health hazards, environmental and other climate issues). The foundation specific targets are to improve schools infrastructures, support under privilege school going children in English and Arabic learning materials, support school gardens, improve women horticultural production and rendering other community services.
