SAS NWT 2023: DAY SIX (6)
TREE PLANTING, VISIT TO BASSE AREA COUNCIL AND A K***A SPORTS.
The entourage of SAS NWT 2023 continued with their endeavor as over two hundred trees were planted by the scores of students at the Tambasangsang Community Forest in URR. The conducted tree planting which is an essential component of the tour's overall objective; was done in the above forest with the collaboration of ST Foundation, the Regional Forestry Department, and the Village Development Committee of the host village. The contribution of the students to the environment of Tambasangsang was acknowledged and the villagers prepared a delicious porridge and Nbahal for the participants.
The participants also paid a visit to the Basse Area Council after the record-breaking initiative where their welcome was facilitated by the CEO Mr. Sallah of Basse Area Council, and the meeting was graced by the Vice Chairman of the Council, Hon. Danjo, and other colleagues. The visit availed the students cm participants of the tour the opportunity to deeply share with the host council the general objectives of the tour. The visit also witnessed the planting of two trees in honor of the Chairman and CEO of the Council respectively at the frontage of the Council premises.
Later in the afternoon, through the sports ministry, the participants were divided into various kundas (Jola, Wollof, Mandinka, Fula), and a cheerful and all-inclusive event was staged where all the kundas participated and entertained.
As we head to Farafenni, we wish ourselves a safe journey.

SAS NWT 2023: DAY THREE (3)
TREE PLANTING AND SPORTS
The tour continues as participants of SAS NWT 2023 engage in two youthful endeavors to impact personal growth and environmental preservation. The activities for the day were Sports and Environment preservation. Mansakonko Area Council (MKAC), in partnership with participants from the School of Arts Sciences, successfully conducted a tree planting exercise within and at the frontage of the MKAC complex under the guidance of Chairman Landing B. Sanneh.
This worthy endeavor which commensurate with this year's theme and SDG 13 seeks to put students at the forefront of environment preservation.
The entourage was graciously welcomed by the council in making sure that the initiative was effectively implemented, and he further gave assurance for their yearly support of our customary cause.

SAS NWT 2023: DAY TWO (2)
SCHOOL OUTREACHES
The tour continues today as the ambitious students visit schools in LRR in the quest to avail the tour participants the opportunity to meet, interact with, and sensitize the students of the host schools about various topics. Tahir SSS and Kaif SSS were the two schools that hosted and graciously welcomed the team.
The tour participants were given platforms to address the students of the host schools and answer questions emanating from the inspired students around the theme of this year's social impact.
The host students were very inspired and engaging throughout the dialogue.

SAS NWT 2023: DAY ONE (1) DEPARTURE CEREMONY
For the first time in the history of SAS, the leadership of SAS NWT 2023 successfully held a departure ceremony today, 24th August 2023 to mark the beginning of the customary tour.
The ceremony which brought together the participants of SAS NWT 2023 and the partners of the two sub-associations (SAS) was utilized by the various representatives of our partners to share advisory expectations, the importance of the tour, and their assurance for a sustainable partnership.
The leadership of SAS NWT took the platform as an opportunity to acknowledge and thank the various partners for their continued support. The leadership also renewed their commitment to a successful and impactful tour.

SAS: NATIONWIDE TOUR
After thoughtfully crafting a theme that matches the central interest of the Gambian society, the School of Arts Sciences proudly presents Nationwide Tour 2023.
This is a TOUR filled up with scholarly engagements, community services, and an expedition to socialize with the innermost part of the country for the students of the School of Arts and Sciences to extensively contribute their quota in the quest to better the country.
If you're passionate about development and a strong believer that serving society is the noblest and most honorable thing to do, then gear up for another national engagement during which you'll have the opportunity to interact with people from other parts of the country but most importantly to re-orient, inspire, and impact.
