A very big thanks goes to the pupils and staff, they raised D4365.00 which they intend to put in the nursery school for teaching aids materials .

Establishing an institution, is the responsibility of everyone. My able teachers seeing the need to support the management committee organised a fund raising by cooking and preparing drinks. We say a big thank you to all parents, teachers and all who contributed to the success of the event. They raised D4365.00

Bright Star Nursery and Basic Cycle School held its graduation and prize giving ceremony for its 68 pupils from the nursery and lower basic of the school respectively.Nursery 3 45 children and Grade 6,23 pupils on the 13th July,2019 at the school ground in old Yundum. The ceremony was well attended by parents and people's from all works of life. The principal, Mr. Ebrima EH Badjie thank parents for making a wise choice by sending their children to Bright Star School and encourage parents to continue patronizing the school. He describes the propritress (Madam Betty Gomez) as a visionary woman who has great love for her country, despite the challenges she faces,she stood strong to see to it that her dreams come true. "All these structures, the tilting of the classrooms are done by her, through the breakfast and juice the children buy in the school. The school was visited by Coordinating committee Meeting (CCM) which comprises of all stakeholders in education on the 10th April,2019 and on the 14th April,2019, the principal reported to the regional office (2) where the results of all the schools visited were compelled and analysis and feedback given to all schools. Bright Star was the 1st school to be called and the secret behind this was "Bright Star is not just a name but a really bright. Before CCM's visit, bright star school was rank 1st in old yundum cluster but on the 14th April,2019 Bright Star as shine as the brightest star in the whole country and the proof of it is this: 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 National Assessment Test (NAT) we scored 100%respectively which no school in the country has. Next year, the school will register its 1st grade 9 for the GABEC and we will maintain the same records." All these achievements couldn't have been possible without the help of the school's harding working staff, to my teachers, I say a "big thank you all keep it up".
Highlighting on the theme for this year's graduation, "effects of mobile phones" the board chairperson who steps in for the guestspeaker encourage parents to be role model, stressing that the child protection unite (CPU) is over full with cases of child abuse which are related to nothing but mobile phones. Honourable Ousman Bah encouraged parent to continue enrolling their children in the nursery, lower and upper basic as it is not only an academic excellent centre, also for there moral welfare. He thank the Propritress, management,staff and pupils for keeping the flag of the school high.
The outgoing head boy of the Nursery Muss Badjie in his vote of thanks,said "we are one people together United, we are brothers and sisters, Bright Star is our Name" he encourages his fellow pupils and wish to see them in the lower and upper basic of the school in September.
There were lots of presentation by the various clubs in the school i.e press club, French club, red cross and the Islamic club. The ceremony ended with a bebate between the graduating pupils in the nursery session of the school, on the topic " education is better than money" Fatoumatta Jallow was for and Kaddijatou Sowe was against the motion. Fatoumatta sees education as the moving source of life while Kaddijatou see money as life lubricant and the dream of a scientist can never be achieve without money.
