DESCRIPTION OF THE ALUMNI

The CJMA Alumni is an association of graduates or former students of Charles Jow Memorial Academy. The aim of the association is to foster a spirit of togetherness and promote the general welfare of the school and help support the next generation of students.

The Alumni association will also help to strengthen the ties between Alumni members and the current students to foster mutual understanding, discipline and promote excellence at all times within and outside the school.

Update on the Alumni Way Foward Discussion
At the Alumni Pool Party, we had one hour Discussion and agreed on the following points:

👉 Alumni routine meetings to happen quarterly (every 3 months) at members house, first meeting to be hosted by @⁨Metta Chart⁩ on March 27th 2022.

👉 Alumni Contribution is every month with an amount of D100.00 for each member with the aim to support each other in terms of emergencies and supporting the school.

👉 Alumni Contribution to D200 to support each proactive member in terms of ceremonies and D100 in emergency situation like death.

👉 An ex student is physically challenged and the Alumni members will visit her to establish a way to support her.

👉 The assign team to complete drafted constitution of the Alumni for the opening of the account.

Dear Colleagues, friends and love onees, wish to share the achievements produced by our ALMA MATER. Congratulations to the CJMA batch of 2021, and wishing them even more success in the future.
We couldn't be happier for them, or more proud. When everyone else said it couldn't be done, the principal and her management team and staff showed the opposite to be true.
We wish all students to enjoy the success they have worked so hard to achieve.

The Charles Jaw Memorial Academy sport department is soliciting for support from the Alumni Association for the bills of eight athletics students.

These athletics were very outstanding as they raised the colours of our Alma Mater during the last inter schools athletics championship and they are focussing in their academics

Lets do it collectively and any amount pledge will educate a child and change a life.

There is nothing so great than returning and giving back to your Alumni. Today the Alumni has provided and donated WASH material to our Alma mater CJMA

👉2 Cartons of Madar Liquid Soap
👉100 Covid -19 information posters
👉5 Big buckets and 2 small buckets

Our Alma mater was books, a good library to reflect on.

The MoBSE has announced announced the reopening of Schools in republic of the Gambia. This prompt pronouncement has send an alarm to the CJMA Alumni as we took commitment to provide Face Mask, Detergents and Hand Washing Buckets to the school before the reopening.

We therefore kindly urged all Ex Pupils of and Alumni members home and in the diaspora for support in the provision of the above mentioned materials.

The Alumni yesterday presented to the school administration 50 bags of cement and ten wheel of sand bought for the renovation of the Art block.
The work will soon begin at the school ground. Thanks to all those ex pupils that contributed towards this noble gesture.

Charles Jow Memorial Academy Alumni has taking commitment to plough back to its Alma Mater to renovate a three classroom block.
The Alumni today has bought 50 bags of cement and trip of sand, the work at the school will begin soon. The presentation of materials will on Monday September 2nd at the school ground at 10:00am.
The Alumni solicits the support of all ex pupils home and abroad.

We are grateful and honored for the opportunity giving to an ex pupils to speak as Guest Speaker at our Alma Mater’s graduation day 2019. Charles Jow Memorial Academy on the Theme; Education and Responsible Citizenship, the speech was delivered on behalf of the School Ex Pupil’s of all badges and the Alumni members. The Alumni Awarded the most outstanding graduating Male and Female Students for their academic excellence. We are deeply touched beyond words.
