The staff and pupils of Tanji Lower Basic School bid farewell to their retiring head teacher, Mr. Baboucarr Bojang, on July 10, 2024. The event featured numerous guest speakers, including the cluster monitor, village imam, deputy head 1 and 2, and most notably, the incoming headmistress, Madam Isatou Colley. A highlight of the day was the cultural dance display by the pupils, with everyone looking beautiful in their colorful attires.

The most touching part of the show was when various community members, both men and women, presented gifts to the outgoing headmaster in appreciation of his decades of service to the community of Tanji and beyond. Mr. Bojang is a living legend and thus needs to be celebrated. The staff and pupils of Tanji Lower Basic School are undoubtedly the very best.

The MC of the day was none other than Mr. Momodou Lamin Colley, who, as always, anchored his position with remarkable entertainment, keeping the audience engaged and interested.

The entire community of Tanji wishes Mr. Bojang a happy retirement!

Below are pictorials of the entire event thanks to our cameramen Lamin Conteh & Lamin Fatty Sukuta 🎥 ❤️✅🤩

TANJI EX-STUDENTS DONATES A PODIUM TO THEIR ALMA MATER ♥️

A legend in any works of life will always remember where it all started from. In other words, if you move your child away from a parent home and to a different home far from his/her parents home. Where the child was nurtured and given the best upbringing and loved unconditionally until aged enough to plough for him/herself; will almost always remember and return to the guidan home with fun memories__ And not only with fun memories but certainly will always take along great things to share with that family to show gratitude and magnanimity for what that family has done for him/her...

To corroborate the above: Tanji Ex-Students Association did exactly just that by doing what a legend will normally do after attaining or achieving immense success and self realization; "remembering where it all started".
On Monday 22nd of April, 2024, the above association presented to their Alma Mater Tanji Lower Basic School a well designed podium holding the school’s only most beautiful emblem (badge). The reason behind presenting this podium is as a result of an event taking place in the school sometime last year, and a few concerned members in attendance noticed a different podium holding a different emblem (badge) had been used for the ceremony, which they feel doesn’t sound well nor appealing to the eye to see - but few months later, they came up in their action plans to make a special podium for their alma mater that will be used for such ceremonies in many years to come.

In the attendance at the handing over ceremony was the association’s president, vice president, coordinator, secretary, council members and other important members in our fold.

We also took up the floor to cheer up and celebrate our recently graduated members who were amongst the thousands of students across The Gambia to have graduated from the highest educational unit/institute in the country ( University of The Gambia) and so beautifully it was our ever-active and smart Sankung Darboe ( Good Child Darboe) who was on the ground with his green-tied neck khaftan that arouse everyone’s interest, yet his smile brought more reasons as to why we should celebrate our members today, tomorrow and forever.

And to conclude the day handing over event, the Vice President Mr. Siaka Nyassi in his professional capacitated suit took up the floor with the podium to give a befitting speech that will forever remain in our memories!

On the most serious note, everyone on the ground was filled with joy and satisfaction as it has been manifested in the photos captured. This is a clear manifestation that we are making waves and progress either knowingly or unknowingly, so let’s keep on striving hard.

We want to thank the school administration for spearing us the platform to speak to our younger ones and most importantly hand over the podium with so much delight.

Special thanks and gratitude to all our members for their steadfastness towards the association’s vision and mission statement. Let’s Keep it rolling. You are the best.

For The Gambia our homeland.

Tanji LBS is our Tanji LBS ♥️✅🤙🏻🎤

The 26th of July 2023 will go down in the history books of Tanji Lower Basic School as the day the indefatigable administrators under the leadership of Mr. Baboucarr Bojang had its first ever graduation ceremony since its establishment in 1980.

A school that nurtured, moulded, and mentored almost every resident of Tanji, who are mounting offices both in the public and private sectors, some are now teachers and headmasters in their respective schools. Tanji Ex-Students Association had the privilege to be invited by the school authorities to be part of the history. We gave out 102 prizes to outstanding graduates.

Even though none of the Ex-students had the privilege to wore a gown and be celebrated as a graduate after 6 years of sweat and toil. They felt like they were, in fact, the graduands.

Mr. Baboucarr Bojang, the headmaster of the school, thanked and sent appreciation to the Tanji Lower Basic School Ex-Students Association for their beautiful gesture and a certificate of recognition for the help they are doing since it's inception, February 2021

Staff of Tanji Lower Basic School, guardians, parents of graduates, well-wishers, and their fellow students celebrate their day of glee.

When the root is deep, there's no reason to fear the wind! When the family or a group is united, even the troubles will be scared to visit!

Earlier today (15th July, 2023)
Ex- students of Tanji Lower Basic School embarked on a sponsor- walk around the vicinity in seeking donation for the association.

Which will be used in giving out a helping hand to the students of Tanji Lower Basic School.

The walk, which began from the Village Alkalo's home, stretched and ended at the beach.

We thank God it became a successful one.

The reason for the sponsor- walk was to gather funds for our maiden "end of the academic year" speech and prize giving ceremony.

change is to improve 💯

We have a total number of 51 classes.
We will need:
102 books

186 rulers
186 pencils and
16 setboxes.
For first and second positions of each class.
