N'Ko ߒߞߏ / N'Ko

The N'Ko alphabet was invented by Soulemayne Kante of Kankan, Guinea, in 1949. Soulemayne Kante was born in 1922.

It is mainly used by speakers of Mandinka, Bambara, Dyula and their dialects in Guinea, Côte d'Ivoire and Mali.

Mande, The Founders of the Ancient Empire of Wagadu-Ghana and Medieval Mali. The Mandé's Manding language's script (called nko) is the most successful of West Africa's many indigenous scripts.

Here is a list of the months in the Mandé calendar (column one is in French, column two is in Manding using the Roman alphabet, column three is Manding using the nko script.
