Support Teen Mothers in Furthering Their Education with WOW WOW Foundation!

We’ve had the incredible opportunity to hear these amazing young girls speak passionately about the issues affecting them. Their strength, resilience, and potential are truly inspiring!

The aim of Wow Wow is to keep teenage mothers in school. We are proud to have helped get Mama Gomez back in school. Mama is a teenage mother of a 9 months old baby. Mama became a mother at the age of 17 and dropped out of school. She is an enthusiastic and eloquent girl with dreams of becoming a Doctor. When what’s on Gambia shared her story we reached out to her and got her back to school with a full scholarship. We understand the struggles faced by teenage mothers with providing for their kids, so Wow Wow foundation provided some financial support to provide support for both Mama and her son . By completing her education, Mama will be better able to provide for her son and her son will be more likely to success as he grows up.

People living with HIV and AIDS in The Gambia continue to face challenges accessing their right to health care services due to stigma and discrimination, despite the enactment of the HIV and AIDS Prevention and Control Act 2015. The Government should tackle the stigma and exclusion faced by people living with HIV so that everyone is treated with respect and dignity! 🫂

We are a non-profit organization registered with the Gambian government in June 2015 with the mission "to contribute to the development of The Gambian people with a focus on access to education and human rights, while respecting the cultural norms and values."

We have multiple local volunteer foundation board members as well as a volunteer project coordinator in The Gambia and we travel back to the country regularly to ensure the funds we've raised are being put to use effectively and with accountability.

Wow Wow means "Yes Yes" in Wolof, one of the many languages spoken in western Africa.
