Prophet (peace be upon him) was boycotted and the Sahaba had to eat leaves from trees at a point for survival, and Prophet (peace be upon him) forgave those people. 'Utba divorced the daughter of Prophet Muhammad because he wanted to hurt him (peace be upon him) but years later, he accepted Islam and Prophet (peace be upon him) forgave him. People plotted against him, people laughed at him and mocked him but he (peace be upon him) forgave them and wept for them. We should aspire to be like our beloved Prophet and only wish good for people even though may not wish the best for you.

7. Do not criticize food. If you dislike it, respectfully and quietly leave it off the plate.

Narrated Abu Huraira:

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) never criticized any food (he was invited to) but he used to eat if he liked the food, and leave it if he disliked it.

[Sahih al-Bukhari 5409]

6. Do not blow on food or drink. Allow your food to cool. Eat slowly and chew your food properly.

It is authentically reported in a Hadeeth that it is forbidden to blow into food. It is narrated that Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: "The Prophet, peace be upon him, forbade blowing into food and drink.” [Ahmad] Shaykh Shu‘ayb Al-Arnaa’oot said: “Its chain of transmitters is Saheeh (sound) according to the criteria of Al-Bukhari.”

Greeting from our Chancellor

ألسلام عليكم ورحمة الله و بركاته،،،

Dear IOU family,

I pray that you are all in the best form of health and Emaan. Moreover, in the Islamic calendar, today is the 1st of Thulhijah, one of the blessed periods of the year. Allah makes an oath in the Quran upon the first 10 days of Thulhijah.
..(وَٱلْفَجْرِ. وَلَيَالٍ عَشْرٍ)
“By the dawn. And (by) ten nights.” (Surah Al-Fajr, 89:1–2).

Therefore, our beloved Chancellor, as usual, is sending you all this special greeting. May Allah accept all of your good deeds in these special days of Thulhijah, Ameen.

The Qur'an is the holy book of Islam. It was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) over a period of twenty-three years. The Qur'an was sent down to us as a guidance of what our way of life should be. There are several ayats of Qur'an which explain the virtues of reading it.

“(This is) a Book (the Qur’aan) which We have sent down to you, full of blessings, that they may ponder over its Verses, and that men of understanding may remember.”

[Surah As-Saad 38:29]

“Verily, this Qur’aan guides to that which is most just and right”

[Surah Al-Isra’ 17:9]

Allah, the Greatest, has put great reward in the recitation and memorization for the Qur'an. He, the Almighty, has put double the reward for someone who experiences difficulty in learning the Qur'an. Allah is the Most-Merciful and Most-Esteemed.

Narrated Aisha:

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Such a person as recites the Qur'an and masters it by heart, will be with the noble righteous scribes (in Heaven). And such a person exerts himself to learn the Qur'an by heart, and recites it with great difficulty, will have a double reward." [Sahih al-Bukhari 4937]
