Yesterday, in the early hours of the day, Ida Ideas Fashion & Design Training Institute had the distinct privilege of welcoming an extraordinary icon of leadership, entrepreneurship, and women’s empowerment — Kumba Daffeh-Kah.
Kumba Daffeh-Kah is a visionary entrepreneur, agribusiness leader, philanthropist, and women’s empowerment advocate. She is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Tresor Inc., a diversified enterprise operating in The Gambia, Senegal, and the United States of America. She is also the Founder and President of Tresor Women Warriors (TWW), a non-profit women-led organization dedicated to promoting, educating, empowering, and uplifting women toward financial independence and sustainable livelihoods.
Since venturing into farming in 2019, Kumba has transformed her passion for agriculture into a thriving agribusiness model. She currently manages six farms across different regions of The Gambia and remains actively involved in daily farm operations, ensuring efficiency, sustainability, and grassroots impact. Through Tresor Women Warriors, she has empowered over 7,000 beneficiaries across all regions of The Gambia in agriculture, food processing, poultry production, microfinance, commodity trading, entrepreneurship development, and mentorship for women and girls.
Kumba’s remarkable contributions to poverty reduction, women-led enterprise development, and inclusive socio-economic growth have earned her numerous prestigious awards and recognitions, including the 2026 50 Most Influential African Women Awards, the 2024 African Icons of the Year Award, and the 2024 Rural Farmer of the Year Award, among many others.
Her visit to Ida Ideas Fashion & Design Training Institute was both inspiring and impactful, reminding our students and staff of the power of vision, hard work, and purposeful leadership.
As Kumba herself says:
“When you empower a woman with knowledge, resources, and opportunity, you don’t just change her life, you transform families, communities, and generations.”
We are truly honored by her visit and deeply grateful for the inspiration she shared with our institution. Thank you, Kumba Daffeh-Kah, for being a shining example of transformational leadership and women’s empowerment.
