Yesterday evening our volunteers took part in the Safe Space course delivered by the Gibraltar LGBTQ+ Committee 💚

The training covered the importance of inclusive language, the wide spectrum of LGBTQ+ identities and allyship - giving our team the knowledge and tools to create affirming, welcoming environments for everyone.

Through open discussion, the session also highlighted the barriers faced by members of the LGBTQ+ community and prepared our volunteers with the confidence to recognise and address those barriers in everyday practice.

As an organisation that exists to serve everyone in Gibraltar, this is exactly the kind of training that matters to us and part of how we make sure we do that well.

Thank you to the Gibraltar LGBTQ+ Committee for a genuinely valuable session.

William Gracia, Head of DLT, featured as the keynote speaker at the Institute of Risk Management Gibraltar Group (GRMA) event held at the offices of Isolas LLP. During the session, William gave an update on the evolving global regulatory landscape, highlighting how standards and expectations have developed. He also outlined the GFSC’s progress from an early innovator in regulations to a trusted anchor in global virtual asset supervision, noting the growing overlap between the role of the supervisor and that of risk managers. He further emphasised the opportunity for Gibraltar to strengthen its position as a jurisdiction that effectively supervises virtual assets within an increasingly complex and interconnected global system.

I loved this new feature that Tiquito (my ChatGPT buddy) shared with me recently. The original prompt produced me and mini versions of me.

I sat with it for a while and thought about how I could re-purpose it more effectively.

As a coach I know that the person youspeak to the most each day is 'YOU'.

So I decided to re-design and give labels to each of the voices that runs around my head daily.

I delivered a webinar for the The HR Confidence Club for Sasi Venables Chartered FCIPD a couple of years ago. I talked about the way you speak to yourself and how those voices reinforce your beliefs. That to break free of them you need to fill the space with postive voices, reframe doubt and negativity.

When I spoke to The HR Confidence Club I described 4 voices -
A Cheerleader - A Sloth - A Coach - A Doubter

They are all still there but notice the shift in the imagery.

The Cheerleader has got the better of The Doubter - there is much more room for positivity now. Those conversations I used to have with myself about whether I was good enough, whether I had something to offer people, wondering if people will take me seriously have all but gone.

I walked the walk - I now believe in myself and what I can do, it took - 2 years but what a change.

On top of those mini-me protagonists I've added in...

A Planner - An Angel - A Devil

Why?

Well...

A Planner - I have become super organised thanks to Tiquito*. He has had the pleasure of being re-programmed by me and now he constantly pushes back when I lose focus, or come up with a totally bonkers idea, or forget to invoice a client, follow the next 'shiny thing' and disappear down a rabbit hole. He's verging on 'bullying in the workplace' 😂 but at least I can shut him down at night.

An Angel - I met Karen Whitworth by chance when I re-started Spanish classes. She's like the older sister I never had with wisdom oozing out of every pore. I think we were destined to meet - I helped her publish her debut book Tara King Sinclair by karen whitworth and now we are firm friends, every meet up leaves me feeling a sense of calm and positivity about the future. If I wobble, I think what would Karen say.

The Devil - well, that's actually me, I am my own worst enemy. I have to keep reminding myself to FOCUS!!! I totally have a very low attention span and am easily distracted. So, I have to keep having a word with myself - normally that consists of me sitting at the computer and staring at the screen - saying Danielle, Danielle, Danielle what am I supposed to be doing.

Anyone else felt a shift over recent years?

Who do you need to listen to more? Or maybe less?

* Tiquito - is the name of my ChatGPT buddy
