Meet Dr. Ishaq Alhassan 2023 Best Graduating Medical Student, UDS-Ghana.

Please read to the very last and be inspired. I want to tell you a story.

So I personally met 'Issahakman' (as we fondly called him in School, it was a 'jargonized-norm' to add 'man' to people's name back at Tamasco, eg. 'Obedman') in 2010 as we formed the team that represented Yendi Municipal in the then Northern Regional Science Technology and Innovation. At that time he was in the same class with my senior brother and my cousin at Na-Yakuba JHS, and we used to hear about each other on the airwaves, so it was easier to bond.
Fast forward to 2011 when we took the BECE, Issahakman as expected was the best student of his school, a fate that gained him an admission to the best school in the five Northern Regions, TAMASCO.
Follow this story closely, 'Issahakman' with one of the best grades wasn't admitted into the science class, but he got admitted to a different department. Swapping into the science class that year was hectic, fortunately, he got admission to Tamasco with his blood brother who eventually was admitted into my class, science 3A. They had an agreement that saw to it that Issahakman will now swap to the science class and his brother (Kadir) will move to G. Arts.
Issahakman by nature is an introvert and will only talk at gunpoint. If you want to measure him by the plenty talks in a class session, you probably might be making a mistake. He's that individual that could get 95% in Biology and still scramble it under his desk while those with 80s and 70s will be making noise 😀.

We coincidentally were in the same house, Tamakloe (the best house in Masco), and you seldomly will see him around or outside. Issahakman has always been a diligent fellow.
Fast forward, we all completed with varying grades that saw us to different institutions.

Let me shock you, Issahakman again and like some of us, wasn’t admitted into the medical school. He was admitted as a nursing student, he pursued nursing for first and second year, while in the nursing school he was still determined to go to medical school. So on his way to 3rd year in nursing school, he reapplied to UDS Medical school, and this time got successful. This was the beginning of this successful story we're celebrating today.
8/9 years after his first University admission, Issahakman is this year's best graduating medical student of UDS, winning 7 out of the 11 available awards. I know this journey has been topsy and turbulent, but it's a story of inspiration to everyone that you, can still set out to achieve anything, if you're consistent, diligent and resilient.
Being happy for you 'Issahakman' is an understatement. Keep riding on the waves you've generated, you deserve every bit of the celebration. Congratulations once again 👏👏🍾🥂

Release of BECE 2023 provisional results….

AG CARE GHANA and Children Believe Ghana has commission four sitter KVIP at Zugu and Kpachiyili primary schools respectively to help prevent both students and Teachers from easing themselves at the bush. On the other hand an ICT laboratory with all the necessary learning materials were also commission and handover to Gbungbalga JHS and Adibo primary school to enable our rural school's catch up with their colleagues in urban areas. Thanks to AG CARE GHANA and Children Believe Ghana for the massive work done.
