AusIMM TARKWA OUTREACH PROGRAM

Hello everyone, yesterday, 3rd May 2022 , the chapter donated some copies of its Founder's book “Navigating Career Challenges in the International Mining Industry" to some students leaders.
A total of 90 books is to be donated to students on both UMaT and KNUST campuses.

The criteria for selection was leaders of associations that are geared towards professional Development like WINE,LIMAP,GHIE and many more.
Also departmental executives were included.
Last but not the least was class reps of various levels and departments.

This donation took place in the KT second floor TV room and was a very successful exercise.

A very big thank you to our Founder Mr Henry Antwi.

Second batch of the Industrial Field Trip by the AusIMM Tarkwa Student chapter was held yesterday, April 9, 2022.
We visited the Health and Safety office, Processing Plant and the surface mining pits of FGR - Bogoso-Prestea Ltd

It was an insightful and exciting visit. A lot was learnt and we are sure that it will go a long way in shaping our professional careers

Thanks to management of the chapter and the Mine for the kind reception and impact

On the 25th of March, 2022, The Ausimm Tarkwa Students Chapter visited the Mining Department of the AngloGold Ashanti Iduapriem Mine. This is a step to actualize the core mission of the association: Professional Development of student engineers.

We got a nice opportunity to learn a lot of what goes on in the mine and to bridge the gap between the industry and the academia

Special thanks to the management of the Mine for the approval of the visit, Alumni on site who helped in the process, Supervisors who took us round, management of the chapter for the opportunity and student leaders for the initiative.

We anticipate successful subsequent visits of the rest of the batches
