UDS Warns Fresh Students Against Unauthorised Payment Demands

The University for Development Studies (UDS) has cautioned newly admitted students against responding to messages circulating on SMS and other platforms which direct them to make payments for souvenirs into some bank accounts.

One of such messages, purportedly from the Students’ Representative Council (SRC), congratulates fresh students on their admission and instructs them to pay GH¢270 into a specific National Investment Bank (NIB) account for souvenirs. It further claims that only designated phone numbers may be contacted for the transaction.

In a strong rebuttal, UDS Management has distanced itself from the scheme, stating that neither the Admissions Office nor the Office of the Dean of Students has approved, endorsed, or permitted any such payments.

How to Check Your UDS Admission Status

Checking your admission status at the University for Development Studies (UDS) is simple. Follow the steps below:

Option 1: Through the Main Admissions Portal
1. Visit: https://admissions.uds.edu.gh/

2. Log in using your UIN and password (these are your admission credentials).

3. Once logged in, go to the UCM Enterprise Portal to see your admission status.

Option 2: Using the Admission Checker Portal
1. Go to: https://admissions.uds.edu.gh/application/prospective-students/admission

2. Fill in the form to view or download your admission letter.

3. We recommend you first check your admission status through the main portal before downloading your letter.
