Anyone who recently started comparing Ødegaard to Bruno Fernandes owes us a 100-page apology. Just look at Bruno’s ratings and performances over the last 10 matches, from the 2–1 win against Liverpool to the 4–4 draw with Bournemouth.
In that period, Bruno has delivered 6 goals and 7 assists, which is 13 goal contributions in 10 matches. And even beyond the numbers, consider this: he is competing for a position with Kobbie Mainoo, a player everyone knows is extremely talented, yet Mainoo cannot even replace him for a single minute. Amorim always has to substitute another player to bring Mainoo on.
Do you people really understand the quality Mainoo has? He is an exceptional player, but when he sits on the bench, many fans suddenly forget how good he is. I am here to say this clearly: Bruno Fernandes has the ability and authority to keep a player of Mainoo’s quality on the bench for an entire season.
Now ask yourself this honestly, can Ødegaard bench Mainoo for three consecutive matches?
I’m just asking.
