In the early 1960s, there was increased morbidity and mortality among the population of several nations. The worse of it was that of the developing countries, people were dying from common illnesses.
The health ministry at that time were concentrating more on curative health, as a result, more materials, financial and human resources were sent to the urban centers which account for 30% of the population whiles those in the rural areas were left unattended.
If you cannot travel to urban centers for your health care then probably you can try the herbalist or the spiritual doctor, if it's doesn't work then doom, you are dead. The impact was increased in morbidity and mortality.

Fortunately, in 1978, the world health organization together with UNICEF established the primary health care policy, which was to send affordable health to the doorsteps of the people, so that health wouldn't be only at the urban centers, but for everyone.
Today, 44years after the establishment of primary health care, a significant impact have been made, primary health care has lead to the employment of more than 10000000 nurses in Africa and about ten thousand in Ghana.
Many communities have been reached through the CHPS concept which is a direct implementor of the primary health care policy.

Thank you for readying, however, this post is just to remind all that, affordability in primary health care still exist, and so let's try as much as possible to make health affordable to all our customers either with or without health insurance.
Affordability! Affordability! gives the weak, the needy and the poor, the greatest opportunity to survive.

2022/2023 academic year application forms are currently out and it will end in August.
