I am a young learner with dreams that stretch beyond the classroom walls. Every day, I come to school carrying not just my books, but also my hopes โ€” hopes to understand, to grow, and to become someone who can make a difference in the world.

Sometimes, learning feels hard. The lessons, the expectations, and the fear of failure can feel overwhelming. But then I look at you โ€” your patience, your smile, and the way you believe in us even when we doubt ourselves. You make me feel that I am capable of more than I think.

You may not always know it, but the words you speak stay with me long after the school bell rings. You are not just teaching me facts and figures; you are shaping how I see myself and the world. You have shown me that kindness, dedication, and courage are just as important as intelligence.

Thank you for noticing me, for encouraging me when I struggle, and for celebrating my little victories. You make learning feel alive, and you make the classroom a safe space where dreams can take root.

One day, when I achieve the dreams I now hold close to my heart, I will look back and remember you โ€” not just as my teacher, but as the one who lit the spark that guided my journey. Here to say thank you, my teacher.

1979 Year Group of Bankoe E. P. JHS commissions modern computer lab.
Ho (V/R), June 23, GNA โ€“ The 1979 Year Group of Bankoe E.P. Middle School has refurbished and commissioned a fully-equipped computer laboratory for their alma mater, aimed at enhancing digital literacy and empowering students through technology.
The commissioning ceremony, held on Sunday, June 22, marked a significant milestone in the schoolโ€™s history as it strives to integrate modern learning tools into the academic environment.
Mr. Daniel Glover, President of the 1979 Year Group, said the initiative was a way of giving back to the community and the school that shaped them.
โ€œThis is more than a donation. It is a seed of empowerment planted for future generations,โ€ he said.
โ€œIn todayโ€™s world, technology is not optionalโ€”it is essential. Our vision is to ensure no child from Bankoe is left behind.โ€
He described the lab as more than just a room with computers, but a legacy built with purpose and vision.
He added that the gesture represented access, opportunity, and a renewed sense of hope for the students.
Mr. Glover also acknowledged the support of the schoolโ€™s leadership, the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), and the church, noting their spiritual and moral guidance throughout the project.
He appealed to the school and the church to protect the facility and ensure it was used responsibly.
โ€œWe entrust this facility to you. Nurture it, build upon it, and let it serve as a stepping stone to greater things for Bankoe EP JHS,โ€ he said.
Wing Commander (Rtd) Rev. Gershon Yao Temadonku, Parish Pastor of Elorm EP Church Bankoe, said the computer lab would significantly contribute to preparing students for future academic and career opportunities.
โ€œThis lab is your gateway to the digital world. Embrace it fullyโ€”itโ€™s a bridge to the university and beyond,โ€ he encouraged the students.
He called on teachers to take advantage of the new facility to impart essential ICT knowledge to the students.
Presbyter Elizabeth Afua Baniba, Headteacher of Bankoe EP JHS, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the 1979 Year Group.
โ€œThis computer lab is a dream come true. We assure you that we will protect it and put it to maximum use for the benefit of our learners,โ€ she said.
The event was attended by members of the 1979 Year Group, church leaders, staff and students of the school, and members of the church choir, who added a touch of celebration with music.

Dearly beloved citizens of goodwill residing in Ghana, we extend to you greetings from the Christian Council of Ghana (CCG) and the Ghana Catholic Bishopsโ€™ Conference (GCBC), in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

๐๐‘๐„๐€๐Œ๐๐‹๐„

We, the leaders of the Christian Council of Ghana and the Ghana Catholic Bishopsโ€™ Conference, held our annual Joint Meeting at the St. James Catholic Church, Osu-Accra, on Thursday, May 22, 2025. We used the opportunity to hold an Ecumenical Service to pray for Christian unity and the wellbeing of the nation. In our joint meeting, we discussed matters of both Church and National interests. We deem it appropriate as Christian Leaders to speak to and bring the following issues to the attention of the Government, our Christian Communities and the people of Ghana.

Having been briefed by the Planning Committee of the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving on the proposal to annually observe July 1 as National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving, we wish to propose that the annual event should be led by the Religious Bodies with the Church taking central role in its organization and promotion.

We wish to call on the Minister of Education to put the necessary processes in place to reinstate the representation of Religious Bodies on the Ghana Education Service Council. This will show good faith, recognizing the historical and moral contribution of faith-based institutions to national education.

Building on the outcomes of the 2025 National Catholic Education Forum held in Koforidua and the proposals sent to the Ministry of Education and the Ghana Education Service, the partnership on education between the Government and the Christian Churches should be signed as soon as possible to ensure the promotion of ethical and moral values in our schools. We believe this will contribute to addressing corruption and unethical conduct that impede national development.

๐„๐‹๐„๐‚๐“๐ˆ๐Ž๐ ๐Ž๐… ๐Œ๐Œ๐ƒ๐‚๐„โ€™๐’

As part of the ongoing Constitutional Review process, we propose that discussions on the election of Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives be revisited to enhance the local governance system in Ghana. Local Government is the level of government that is closer to the majority of our people. This is the level of government that delivers basic services such as education, sanitation, lorry parks, markets, planning, etc. Local participation and support are critical to the effective performance of local government.

We have been informed that the Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill, which was not assented to after it was passed by the previous parliament, has been resubmitted to the Current Parliament as a Private Members Bill in February. Despite the submission, we kindly affirm our support for the Bill to be government-sponsored through the Office of the Attorney General. This is to avoid the legal challenges that the previous bill suffered. We expect that this bill will be treated under the Certificate of Urgency since all the work on it has already been done by the previous parliament.

To bring to rest all the issues surrounding the National Cathedral Project, we request that the forensic audit of the Project be completed promptly to provide clarity and inform prudent decisions regarding the projectโ€™s future in the interests of Ghanaians

๐‚๐Ž๐๐‚๐‹๐”๐’๐ˆ๐Ž๐

The Christian Council of Ghana and the Ghana Catholic Bishopsโ€™ Conference wish to assure all Ghanaians that we will continue our public education, Christian advocacy and prayers for peace, harmony, and justice in Ghana. In so doing we will continue to be non-partisan and be guided by the principles of the Holy Bible. We wish all Ghanaians well in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ
