Tamale Islamic Science Senior High School (TISSEC) is a public school established by the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) in 1997. The school is located in Kanvilli, Tamale, in the Northern Region of Ghana. The school's motto is "Knowledge Supplication to God and Service to Humanity". The school focuses on science and mathematics, and prepares its students for the 21st century. The school also offers various co-curricular activities, such as quiz competitions, sports, clubs, and field trips. The school has a vision to be a school of excellent academic credentials for its students and country. The school has a mission to provide quality education that is relevant to society and in accordance with Islamic principles. The school has a goal to produce graduates who are competent, confident, and committed to serving God and humanity. The school has achieved some remarkable feats, such as reaching the quarter finals of the 2016 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ), winning the 2020 Northern Regional Science and Maths Quiz, and producing two students who qualified for the 2021 Ghana Science Olympiad. The school has also faced some challenges over the years, such as inadequate infrastructure and facilities, insufficient teaching and learning materials, and low enrollment of female students. The school is a unique and outstanding school that provides quality science education for its students in a supportive and nurturing environment. The school is proud of its history, achievements, and contributions to the development of Ghana.
