IIR engages accountants, administrators, auditors, and research and grants coordinators of Schools and Faculties of UDS as part of the process of establishing Research and Grants Support Units (RaGSU) at the School and Faculty level to create efficiency in its role of facilitating and coordinating research, funding, and grants in the University.

The one-day event took place at the Dr. Andani Andan Hall at the Central Administration block of the University on 5th May 2022 at 1:30 pm.

At the meeting, the Director of IIR took participants through the structure of a typical Faculty Research and Grants Support Unit and its proposed relationship to IIR and the office of the Vice-Chancellor. Participants were also made to understand their roles within the proposed structure.

The Deputy of IIR, Prof. Mamudu A. Akudugu who also doubles as the HoD for the Department of Research and Grants Support also took participants through what IIR expects from all the stakeholders.
He made everyone understand that none of the players in the grants value chain is more important than the other and that they are all expected to work in synergy to uplift the image of the University. He entreated the academics to involve the administrators, accountants, and auditors right from the funding proposal writing stage to enhance transparency and efficiency in the entire process.

Participants thanked the Director of IIR and his team for the initiative and pledged their support to ensure it's a success.

Thank you to all participants who made this meeting a success.
