Isaac kwesi Prah (Jnr) was born on Sunday, 24 December 1944 to Prophet Dr. Isaac Kwesi Prah- Odiyifo Prah (founder of Life and Salvation Church) and Madam Ama Quainoo all of blessed memory. He had his elementary school education at Ahmadiya, Saltpond and then continued to the Ghana National College. He then proceeded to the University of Cape Coast in 1968 where he read History. He was one of only two students in the Faculty of Arts to graduate with Second Class honours in 1971. In 1973, he was awarded a scholarship to pursue a Masters programme at the University of Michigan in the United States of America. This was funded by the Centre for African-American Studies of the University of Michigan and the Government of Ghana. Upon completion of his studies, he started lecturing at the University of Michigan and thereafter returned to Ghana in 1979 to continue lecturing at the University of Cape Coast until 1992 when he voluntarily retired. He also had stints of lecturing with students at Mfantsipim, Adisadel and Ghana National College. His life can be defined in part by his quest for holistic knowledge and impartation of this to the younger generation. A case in point is when he was requested by the headmaster of Adisadel College in October 1991 to assist in preparing final year government students whose teacher had vacated her post. He willingly took up this challenge and held marathon lectures to enable them to sit for the May/June 1992 exams and to the glory of God all of them passed and are now in reputable positions. One of the students even had the overall best student award during the award/speech day. He then relocated with his family to Takoradi where he commenced private tuition (Harp Academy) for students preparing for the Ordinary and Advanced levels examinations. In the late 1990’s he converted one of his lecture notes pamphlets into a textbook - for Government students in Senior Secondary School. This book is now a household name in Ghana and is highly recommended by the Ministry of Education. He has to his credit a total of five books in Government and Social Studies. He believes in spending quality time with family and even gave up an offer for a job with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs because of his children. Isaac Kwesi Prah serves on the governing Board of the Life and Salvation Church where he fellowships. He is also the patron of various youth organisations in the church. He is an ardent advocate of education for the deprived but brilliant. He therefore does not hesitate to sponsor or assist such individuals whenever the need arises. His hobbies include reading, research, intellectual debate and counselling.
