3CGS Holds First Strategic Meeting of 2025 to Drive Impactful Change

Sunyani, Ghana – January 2025

The Centre for Climate Change and Gender Studies (3CGS) at the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) kicked off the year with a high-level strategic planning meeting, setting the tone for its research, advocacy, and capacity-building initiatives for 2025. The meeting, held at the UENR main campus, brought together key stakeholders, researchers, and faculty members to outline the year’s priorities and ex*****on strategies.

Setting the Agenda for 2025

The session opened with a review of 3CGS's vision and mission, emphasizing its commitment to social-ecological resilience through evidence-based research, training, and advocacy. The team assessed past achievements and challenges, ensuring that 2025 initiatives align with excellence, innovation, gender equity, and inclusiveness—core values that define the center’s work.

Key Focus Areas

Discussions revolved around major strategic pillars, including:
✅ Climate Action & Policy Advocacy – Strengthening research-based recommendations for climate resilience policies.
✅ Capacity Development & Training – Expanding workshops and training for students, professionals, and local communities.
✅ Gender & Social Equity in Climate Change – Promoting gender-responsive climate policies and community engagement.
✅ Multi-Disciplinary Research & Partnerships – Fostering collaborations with government, NGOs, and international organizations.
