We sincerely send our best wishes as you officially hand over the administration of the school to take up other roles in Education Management. Your short but memorable stay as headteacher of the school has been impactful. Your energy, ideas, and love for improving learning outcomes and building learner's capacity was unparalleled. The girls will miss you dearly.

We congratulate and wish our 2021 graduates the best as they begin yet another step in their educational pursuit to the Senior High School.

Though not the best we expected, it will be sheer ingratitude to not appreciate the grace of God/ Allah in their examination and placement. Analyses of results of thirty-two (32) students who sat for the BECE, 2021 show a 100% pass rate for the school, with the best grade being 18, and worse grade being 28 obtained by only two students. The rest of the 30 students range between grades 18 and 25.

It is exciting to note that 70% of the students had automatic placement in category A schools, 25% in category B schools and 5% in category C schools.

We acknowledge the hard work of teachers and as well appreciate the support of the SMC and PTA.

It is our hope and prayer that these girls reach the peak of the academic ladder and excel in every endeavor.

Best regards.

Earlier today, 24/02/2022, as part of our Action Plan for the term to have a Health Talk on Menstrual Hygiene, we invited personnel of the Ghana Health Service, Pusiga directorate to educate students on the topic. Students were led through the ways to keep themselves clean and healthy during menstruation.

Also, the personnel donated a box of sanitary pads to the school in response to the school's request to them in the past.

We are indeed grateful for the selflessness and kindness of these personnel.

As part of efforts to promote excellence and imbibe in our students our core values of Execellence, Discipline, Hard work & Dedication, Team work & Collaboration, Trust & Openness, Integrity, and Respect, we instituted the Pusiga Girls' Model JHS Execellence Awards to award deserving students in both academic and non-academic categories.

Awardees took home prizes ranging from story books, notebooks, exercise books among others. This we believe will not only motivate learners, however will engineer in learners a sense of healthy competition.

ACTIONAID GHANA TO CONSTRUCT A SIX-UNIT CLASSROOM BLOCK AND ANCILLARY FACILITIES FOR THE COMMENCEMENT OF PUSIGA GIRLS' MODEL PRIMARY SCHOOL
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
22 December, 2021
Earlier today, ActionAid Ghana through the Pusiga District Assembly and Pusiga GES Directorate handed over a piece of land for construction of of a Six-unit Classroom Block for the commencement of the Pusiga Girls' Model Primary School. Contained in the site plan to be constructed are, a furnished library, students and staff washroom facilities, a staff common room, and a mechanized borehole.
At a brief ceremony to handover the site to the contractor, the DCE for Pusiga, Mr. Abdulai Zubeidu, appreciated the kind gesture and appealed to the organization to continue to do more for the school and the district at large.
The DCE requested that the contractor employ more local hands as labour during the construction of the structure. This he said would serve as a source of income to the members of the community.
The director, ActionAid Ghana, Zebilla, Mr. Sumaila, in his speech underscored the importance of the Girls Model School System which he said was to serve as a prototype for government and other stakeholders to emulate. He further stated that though a request was made for the structure during the handover of the Junior high school block, his outfit had it in their plan, but needed funding to make any commitments.
Mr. Sumaila added that the project was the only in the region and two others in Northern region and Ahafo respectively. The time frame for the project he said was six months. He mentioned that baring any unforeseen circumstances, the contractor, Jonas Construction Limited will complete the project and hand over the same in May, 2022.
The district director of education, Mr. Issahaku Iddisa, in his remarks commended ActionAid Ghana for their benevolence. He stated that the construction of the JHS Block has been timely and has helped provided a conducive environment for learning. This he said is evidenced by the 100% pass of the Pusiga Girls' Model JHS in the 2020 BECE analysed results.
The district director of education appealed to ActionAid Ghana to provide the Pusiga District with a modern ICT Center to better equip learners with the right IT skills to meet the demands of the ever changing world. The absence of such a facility in the district he said was hindering the teaching and learning of ICT.
On school lands, Mr. Issahaku Iddisah further admonished the DCE to help schools in the district to protect school lands, since there has been a lot of encroachment on same across the district. He cautioned that if steps were not taken to safeguard school lands, the district may be faced with the challenge of securing land for development purposes in schools in the near future.
Concluding, the district director asked for the drawings of the site plan to be made available to the district assembly for monitoring of the contractor's work to ensure right is done in the construction.
In his response, Mr. Sumaila, reiterated the fact that his outfit was committed to honoring the request of putting up an ICT Center as and when funds were available for such purpose. He promised to make available the drawings of the site plan to the assembly as requested by DDE.
The SMC Chairman, on behalf of the community thanked ActionAid Ghana for the kind gesture and appealed to the contractor to do a better job.
The program came to an end with the team taking group photos.
Yesterday, Wednesday, 08/12/2021, management and staff of the school had an End of Year Get-together and Send-off Party for national service personnel and teacher trainees posted to the school. In attendance was the SMC and PTA executives who were accounted to by the headteacher of his stewardship thus far.
The staff and guest were treated to a buffet of dishes; fufu with goat meat, fried rice, jollof rice and assorted fried rice. It was all fun and retrospection as staff shared jokes and discussed the gains made and shortfalls over the academic year. Projections were also made for next academic year.
We wish our national service personnel and teacher trainees well in their future endeavors. Indeed, we will miss them dearly.
Kind regards.
