πŸ‡¬πŸ‡ 🚨 Thomas Partey Wins Canada Visa Battle, Set to Join Black Stars for World Cup Opener Against Panama

Thomas Partey has finally been cleared to join the Black Stars after successfully securing his Canadian visa, following an intense legal and diplomatic intervention involving his legal team and the Government of Ghana.

The visa denial initially sparked major debate, prompting a fast-tracked legal challenge at Canada’s Federal Court. Authorities argued for due process and the principle of β€œinnocence until proven guilty,” which reportedly contributed to the reversal of the decision within 48 hours.

With the matter resolved, the Black Stars vice-captain is now expected to link up with the squad in Toronto and could feature in Ghana’s crucial World Cup opener against Panama πŸ‡¬πŸ‡βš½

His return is seen as a major boost for Otto Addo’s side, bringing experience, leadership, and stability as Ghana begins its World Cup campaign.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡βš½ From courtroom tension to the world stage β€” Partey is back in action for the Black Stars.

What’s your take on how the Ghana government stepped in and reportedly secured Thomas Partey’s Canada visa approval in less than 48 hours?

Some say it shows strong diplomatic power and influence in protecting national interests and key players ahead of major tournaments πŸ‡¬πŸ‡βš½
Others believe no player should require government intervention to resolve visa issues at that speed.

πŸ‘‰ Do you think this was effective leadership and quick action, or does it raise deeper questions about the system and fairness in sports travel approvals?

*Private School Activities in the District*

New Edition Schools was privileged to host Mr. Dunstan Noble Blay, Private Schools' Coordinator, as part of the Ken Donkoh Mentorship Month. Speaking on the theme, "Raising Visionary Leaders: Building Upon the Foundation of Our Forebears for Societal Impact," he inspired students to see themselves as leaders today by embracing responsibility, serving others, and building a better future for generations to come.

His engaging football analogy and practical life lessons reminded students that true leadership is about character, purpose, and making a positive impact wherever they are.

🌟 CELEBRATING GUIDANCE & COUNSELLING WEEK 2026

The Gomoa East Education Directorate proudly commemorated the 2026 Guidance and Counselling Week under the theme:
"Empowering Learners for Informed Choices and Positive Living."

Despite the brief interruption caused by the midterm break on 8th and 9th June, our dedicated Headteachers, teachers, and Guidance and Counselling Coordinators demonstrated remarkable commitment by ensuring that the celebration was successfully observed across the district through innovative and impactful activities.

Schools organized a variety of programmes, including: πŸ“Œ Community sensitization floats πŸ“Œ Career guidance sessions πŸ“Œ Values and moral education talks πŸ“Œ Parent engagement programmes πŸ“Œ Awareness campaigns on positive discipline, safe schools, and responsible decision-making.

We are particularly delighted that almost all 50 public basic schools in the district actively participated, reaffirming our collective commitment to the holistic development and well-being of every learner.

πŸ™ Special Appreciation
We express our heartfelt gratitude to our District Director of Education, Mrs. Francisca Esi De-Graft Johnson, for her unwavering support and encouragement. We also extend our sincere appreciation to our Supervisor, SISOs, Headteachers, Guidance and Counselling Coordinators, teachers, parents, learners, and all stakeholders whose dedication and collaboration made the celebration a resounding success.

Together, we remain committed to empowering our learners to make informed choices, nurture positive relationships, and grow into responsible, confident, and productive citizens.

Every learner matters, and together, we are shaping brighter futures.
