SIR SAMMY'S LITERACY CHALLENGE '24.

To the glory of The Almighty, the Second Edition of the all-important Sir Sammy's Literacy Challenge has been brought to a successful end.
The contest focused on four rounds: Round One; Reading and Comprehension(English Language and Asante Twi), Round Two; Spelling Bee, Round Three; Word Formation and Sentence Formation and Round Four; General Knowledge.

The just-ended edition, just like the maiden edition, sought to, among other things, improve upon the range of vocabulary as well as communication of the learners, improve their mastery of the Asante Twi and English Languages, reinforce learners' global citizenship, critical and analytical thinking and problem solving skills.
The contest was held at the Nana Ponko II M/A Primary School Grounds, Obuasi-Ashanti, on Friday, March 15, 2024 between Nana Ponko II M/A Primary School, Bediem Experimental M/A Primary School and Bogobiri 'B' M/A Primary School.

At the end of the much-anticipated keenly-contested challenge, Bediem Experimental M/A Primary School emerged winners with 112points, Nana Ponko II M/A Primary School emerged first runners-up with 106.5points and Bogobiri 'B' M/A Primary School second runners-up with 100points.

On behalf of the unflagging and altruistic team of officials who worked through thick and thin to see to the success of the all-important Sir Sammy's Literacy Challenge, I would like to express my sincerest gratitude for the unflinching support from contestants, teachers and headteachers of the participating schools and most importantly Mr. George Alfred Koomson, Municipal Director of Education, Obuasi East Municipal Education Directorate.
It is my prayer that we all live to witness the subsequent Sir Sammy's Literacy Challenges as It gets bigger and better.

At this point, I employ the success of this second edition as a clarion call to all and sundry to support and sponsor Sir Sammy's Literacy Challenge in the succeeding contests.
Attached are photos from the just-ended Sir Sammy Literacy Challenge '24.
For the sake of a Brighter Future
