Appearance they say, isn’t just about looks; it’s about how you present yourself through your clothing. Many people tend to dress nicely only for interviews, events, church services, or mosque visits. But why is it that we reserve our best outfits for certain occasions?
I remember when our Head of Department, Prof. Adjoa Afriyie Poku, and our current Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. Esther, told me, “Hamdyia, you’re my role model. I love the way you dress; keep it up!” That moment made me realize how much people notice you from afar. Since then, I decided I wouldn’t wait for a special event to dress well. I strive to look good and feel confident no matter where I am.
Your appearance can open doors and help you connect with the right people, but it can also impact how others perceive you. Sometimes, what you wear can make a real difference in your relationships and opportunities.
Do you ever feel uncomfortable of how you dress?

*OBUASI STREET FEST: A Day of Hope and Dignity*
On Friday, December 26th, 2025, the Hamdyia Dauda Small But Mighty Foundation brought joy and relief to the less privileged members of our community through the Obuasi Street Fest at Central Market.
This heartwarming initiative reached out to those who often go unnoticed our brothers and sisters living on the streets. The foundation provided warm meals and essential hygiene items, offering not just material support but also dignity and hope to those who need it most.
Through this compassionate outreach, the HD Small But Mighty Foundation demonstrated that no one should be forgotten, especially during the festive season. The event was a beautiful reminder that small acts of kindness can make a mighty difference in someone’s life.

Mental health is a pressing issue that affects everyone, regardless of gender, age, or background. However, there’s a pressing concern that men are often hesitant to speak out about their struggles, leading to a silent epidemic of mental health issues.
This month, as we focus on mental health awareness for men, it’s clear that many are struggling. The statistics are alarming: men are more likely to die by su***de than women, and many more are living with depression, anxiety, and other mental health conditions.
The rate at which voices are being silenced is alarming, and a lot of our men are really going through a lot. Some are depressed, anxious, and don’t even know what to do. The pressure to conform to traditional masculine norms, the stigma surrounding mental health, and the lack of support systems can make it difficult for men to open up about their struggles.
Just this week, a student committed su***de because of depression. This tragic event is a stark reminder that mental health issues can affect anyone, regardless of age, background, or socioeconomic status. It’s a wake-up call for us to take action, to break the silence, and to create a safe space for men to talk about their mental health.
So, what can we do? First, we can start by talking about mental health openly and honestly. We can encourage men to speak out, to share their stories, and to seek help when needed. We can also support organizations that provide mental health services and promote awareness.
Let’s raise awareness, let’s break the stigma, and let’s support our men in their mental health journey. Our dear men are really struggling, and it’s time for us to listen, to support, and to act. Together, we can create a world where men feel comfortable discussing their mental health, seeking help, and living healthy, happy lives.
Remember, mental health is real, and it’s okay to not be okay. If you’re struggling, know that you’re not alone, and there are people who care about you. Reach out to a trusted friend, family member, or mental health professional. You deserve support, and you deserve to live a happy, healthy life.
