The end-of-semester examinations for continuing students of BTPOTC officially commence today. We wish all students success as they demonstrate the knowledge and skills acquired throughout the semester.

Day 3: Measurement and Casting

The second batch of Diploma students continues their final practical examination with Measurement and Casting, a crucial stage in the prosthetic fabrication process.

Students are being assessed on their ability to accurately evaluate clients, take precise measurements, and produce quality casts that will serve as the foundation for successful prosthetic intervention. Professionalism, technical competence, and attention to detail remain essential throughout the assessment.

This examination is also being monitored by the International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics (ISPO) as part of efforts to ensure that training and assessment standards align with international best practices.

We wish all candidates success as they continue to demonstrate the knowledge and skills gained throughout their training.

Today, on World Day for Assistive Technology, ISPO joins the global community in recognising the transformative impact of assistive technology in improving mobility, independence, participation, and inclusion worldwide.

Day 2: Prescription Defense

The second batch of final-year Diploma students at BTPOTC is undertaking Day 2 of their final practical examination – Prescription Defense.

Students will present and justify their prosthetic and orthotic prescriptions before a panel, demonstrating their clinical reasoning and decision-making skills. The exercise will also be evaluated by the International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics as part of the assessment process.

DIPLOMA FINAL PRACTICAL EXAMINATION
Today marks the commencement of the Final Practical Examination for our Diploma students. This assessment is not only a test of knowledge and technical skills but also a demonstration of the dedication, resilience, and professionalism they have developed throughout their 3 years training.
This year’s examination carries added significance as it will also be evaluated by the International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics (ISPO), providing an opportunity to benchmark our training standards against internationally recognized expectations in Prosthetics and Orthotics education.

As the candidates showcase their competencies, we wish them confidence, precision, and success in every task. May their hard work and commitment shine through during the examination.

Final Day: The Moment of Truth! 🎓🦿
After days of casting, rectification, draping, trimming, and fitting, the final year certificate class of Brother Tarcisius Prosthetics and Orthotics Training College (BTPOTC) will face the ultimate challenge ;defending their fabricated prostheses before a panel.

The day will not only be about making a device look good; students will also have to justify every modification, alignment, and design choice with confidence and sound clinical reasoning. The panel will ask the tough questions, and candidates will be expected to defend their work like true professionals. 😅

From biomechanics to socket fit, component selection to patient comfort, students will demonstrate the knowledge, technical skills, and critical thinking developed throughout their training.

The room may be quieter, but the tension in the room will definitely be loud enough to align a prosthetic bench by itself! 😂
