A training session was organised for members of the Faculty of Integrated Communication Sciences (FICS) at the University of Media, Arts and Communication on Turnitin and MyLoft. Turnitin is one of the most recognised software programs for checking the similarity index of scholarly materials, and MyLoft provides remote access to the university’s subscribed academic databases.

These resources would support the teaching, learning, and research needs of the faculty members, who lauded the library's initiatives and committed to making use of its resources. Subsequent trainings will be scheduled for other faculties and students.

The Library’s services and products are available to all members of the university, and we encourage the academic community to take advantage of our offerings.

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

Institute of Languages (UniMAC-IL) to Host 2025 International Portuguese Language Day

The Institute of Languages of the University of Media, Arts and Communication (UniMAC-IL) is delighted to announce that we will host the 2025 International Portuguese Language Day on Monday, 5th May 2025, at the East Legon Campus of the University. This prestigious event will unite Portuguese-speaking nations, cultures and enthusiasts in a vibrant celebration of linguistic diversity and shared heritage.

Celebrated annually on 5th May, the day was established by the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP) to honour the linguistic and cultural ties that bind over 260 million Portuguese speakers across four continents. It underscores the importance of multilingualism, cultural exchange and the role of the Portuguese language as a bridge for diplomacy, education and socio-economic development.

Special Guest of Honour:
We are honoured to welcome Her Excellency, the Ambassador of the Brazilian Embassy in Ghana, as the Special Guest of Honour for this occasion.

Join us as we celebrate the power of language to connect nations.
Let’s embrace unity in diversity through the Portuguese language.
