Nkwanta Community Senior High Technical School

One of the highlights of last semester was receiving a generous donation of a projector and screen from Hon. Mubarak Abdul-Karim, Director of -Oti Region, Ghana and former member of our Mathematics Department, affectionately known as _Diplomatic_.
It was a truly wonderful moment as the items were officially received by our very own Headmaster, Mr Emmanuel Atiemo and his assistants. In his usual eloquent short speeches, the Headmaster expressed his gratitude for the items received, which, as he confirmed, will be of tremendous help to teachers and learners in the school.

We were also honoured to host Hon. Awal Zakary, Assembly Member for Nkwanta Central Electoral Area, who was part of the delegation. He took the opportunity to encourage students, especially final-year candidates, on the importance of regular attendance as they prepare for WASSCE examinations.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Hon. Abdul-Karim for his continued commitment to education and community development.

DAY 3: Educating Teachers, Protecting Students

As part of our campaign, Nkwanta Community Senior High Technical School showed our commitment to education about sexual harassment.

On Day 3, we focused on training teachers to recognize, prevent, and respond to sexual harassment. This critical effort helps create a safer, more supportive learning environment for all students.

Key takeaways:

Teachers play a vital role in preventing and addressing sexual harassment. Discussions also delved into the effects and implications of sexual harassment (, professional, social and legal), which are crucial issues for educators. Teachers came to understand that they are responsible for their own actions, and as educators that students look up to, they must be first in respecting students and creating the safest environments for their growth.

DAY TWO

We had engagement with students where distinguished resource persons helped students to understand sexual harassment. This represents a powerful step towards creating a safer, more respectful community for all on our campus!

ENSURING STUDENT SAFETY: INSIGHTS FROM GHANA FIRE SERVICE.

Today, our school took a proactive step towards ensuring the safety of students by hosting personnel from the Ghana Fire Service. They provided invaluable information on staying safe when using electricity, fire, and gas.

Students were reminded to exercise caution when using electrical appliances and gas cylinders, emphasizing the importance of proper connections and maintenance to prevent fire outbreaks.

The session highlighted common causes of fire outbreak, such as flammable materials near gas cylinders and faulty electrical wiring, while also demonstrating the proper use of fire extinguishers available on our campus.

In addition to addressing fire safety, the Fire Service shared their broader role in responding to emergencies beyond fires, including road accidents, and encouraged students interested in joining the service to be serious with their studies.

Remember, safety is everyone's responsibility!
