Normally, actions speak louder than words. But not during our debate competition! 4 teams competed against each other. In the beginning it looked like our team with Aisha and Theresa will win. But in the end the victory went to team „THE OVERCOMERS“ with John and Shaibu in the lead. It was a great event which will be repeated soon. @ Mim, Brong-Ahafo, Ghana

Who would have guessed that?!? Science classes are way more interesting and educational with proper equipment. Thanks to the , Mr. Bernd Ansorge and Wolfgang Rettig we now have a fully equipped science lab. Other schools in Mim can profit from the lab equipment, too. We will invite them when doing exciting experiments.

What an amazing excursion!! GGA spent two days in Kumasi to visit Ghana Water, the Gridco Station, the Kumasi Airport and the Mall. After all the learning and exposure we went to the cinema and watched Maleficent as crowning finale.

This student of the month award for October goes to Micheal Awuni. He wrote a tribute speech for our friend and student the late John Paleba. We are missing you.

Ready for take off at Kotoka International airport. The question is not if our students are prepared for Europe. Rather, is Europe prepared for them? 👊🏼

After a long time of preparation the day has finally come. Our first 4 students are on their way to Europe to further their electrical skills and work with . We took off from Mim at 7.30 am and are on the Bus to Accra now. Special thanks to everybody who helped making this possible - BIC electric, the Wallevik family, Tom Vernon, Lasse, Cathy, Matt, the gorgeous GGA staff (William, Owusu, Haruna, Egyir, Evans and Doe), the Volunteers Karen and Bernd and all the people who donate goods and/or money.

Now it’s time for Florence to share her thoughts about the program with . AWESOME NEWS
The news came to me out of the blue. I was totally caught off guard. Indeed, I was struck speechless when I was first confirmed to be a part of the selected ones to travel abroad.
It was nothing I expected when I first made decision to join the school. It felt and still feels awesome. My family members were happy to hear this good news and advised me to learn hard. When I heard this news I was surprised and in disbelief that I had that opportunity to study outside my country. Tears of joy welled up in my eyes. However, I felt sad because I realized how I would miss my classmates when I leave.
I am very glad for this opportunity that BIC electric has given me. I am very proud of you BIC Electric. Thank you very much for making the impossible possible for me.
Now my expectation has gone through the roof. Nothing is impossible to me anymore. My dream, aspiration, expectation and vision is to acquire more knowledge, understanding and skills in order to be a good employee for BIC and to help the whole world. I know that this chance will change my entire life condition.
I will use my spare time to learn about the Danish & Polish culture. This is because it is good to learn the culture whenever you find yourself in a new environment.
My biggest fear is how the people over there will treat me. The reason being that racism is still ongoing in some European countries. Since I am Ghanaian I will be missing some of our local dishes like “fufu and akple”.
The only advice I have for my friends is that, they should take technical education more serious because that’s one of the major things that drives the economy of any country forward.
Thank you.

From,
Florence Emefa Agbemenya

Here we go - Philip Akwasi Afriyie starts off sharing his initial thoughts about the exchange program:

*MY FIRST BIGGEST OPPORTUNITY*
The first time Ghana Greentech Academy mentioned that I was part of those who qualify for the BIC Electric exchange program, my heart leaped inside me. I was speechless and did not know what to do.
I could not believe that I was going abroad to further my education and even get the chance to be employed by an internationally recognized company. Furthering my education, becoming more skilled at my trade and exposed to advanced technologies was my biggest dream. When my parents and siblings heard the news, they were happy and told me to continue learning hard and be more dedicated towards everything I do.
My biggest fear is the change in food and the climatic conditions in Europe, which is different from that of Ghana. In fact, being in a different environment is not going to be a big deal for me because the environment at Ghana Greentech Academy has exposed me to people from different parts of the world and different cultures.
My expectation after the exchange program is to get employed permanently by BIC Electric.
During my leisure time in Poland and Denmark, I will read my storybooks, explore the beautify places there and revise what I will be thought both in school and at work and communicate with my family members back in Ghana. I would also use it as an opportunity to explore both countries.
I advise my friends to learn hard and pursue their goals with determination and dedication.
