The Order of the Holy Paraclete began it's work in Ghana at the request of Bishop John Ofeur Aglionby, Lord Bishop of Accra. The three Pioneer sisters;sis Lilla, sis Dorothy and sis Gertrude, accompanied by mother Margaret, founder and first prioress of the Order. They arrived in the evening of 26th October,1926.By 1930,a Teacher Training College was established in Cape coast. Monica, Saint of Africa was chosen as patron of the institution. In 1936, the Training College was transferred to Mampong-Ashanti.

GES has established dedicated Helplines across all regions in the country to facilitate quick responses to enquiries and provide the necessary support to all staff in the region.

As part of efforts to strengthen communication within the Service, all 16 Regional Education Directorates have been provided with mobile devices and official contact lines to facilitate smooth and timely engagement with both teaching and non-teaching staff within, and across, the respective regions.

All teachers are encouraged to reach out to these Helplines whenever they require assistance.
