It was September 3rd 2002, Mr. and Mrs.
Adusei established Nana Serwaa International School, now Nana Serwaa Standard School. The school started with twelve (12) Pupils and two (2) Teachers including the Proprietor in a house with the aim of providing quality education to the community. The children in the community had to travel a long distance for their education, due to this trauma parents and pupils were going through, Mr. Adusei th
ought it expedient to establish the school to help elevate the plight of the community. By God’s grace, the school can boast of twenty-two (22) spacious classrooms with the population of 650 pupils and students. The Ghana Education Service (G.E.S) granted the school an opportunity to start the Junior High School (J.H.S) course in 2007/2008 Academic Year because of the good and hard work done by the Management and able Teaching Staff, the GES has approved Grade “A” status to the school. The school now can boast of Forty-Seven (47) workforce. With this present workforce, the school has helped to reduce unemployment rate in the Country. The school has a Pastor to assist the Spiritual welfare of the children in the school. In other to release the transportation burden of the parents, the school has a cosmos bus which conveys the children to and fro. The school has a nice and a well decorated compound, computer lab, sick bay and an ultra-modern crèche department. ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE: The first batch of students presented for the BECE to the Seventh batch had been so special; the results obtained are so tremendous and superb. The school has so far graduated about Three Hundred and Eighty-Two Students. The school for the past Seven years has been obtaining 100% with distinctions at the BECE results. The joy of our heart is that the school has produced Scholars in the community. Some of our students are pursuing Medicine, Law, Pharmacy, Nursing, Social Science etc. in the various universities in the country. SPORTS: The school had the opportunity to contest the 2013/14 Nunu Games at the Kumasi Sports Stadium. The participating schools were thirty two (32), by God’s grace Nana Serwaa Standard was the champion and we lifted the prestigious trophy. In 2015/16 academic year also, the school as the defending champion were able to lift the trophy again. Meaning that Nana Serwaa Standard School has won the Nunu Games festival on two occasions. Obviously, we can boast of excelling in both Academics and Sporting activities. OTHER ACHIEVEMENTS: The school was the only private school selected within Oforikrom Circuit (Zone B) by Garden City Radio to stage live drama on their children’s programme. The school got another opportunity to participate in the Luv fm organized Choreography competition. In the programme, the school took the first prize. The school wouldn’t have come this far without the immeasurable support of Teaching and non-teaching staff, the Pastor, the outgoing PTA Chairman; Mr Acquah and the present PTA Chairman; Mr. Anane and Our dear parents who have assist Us. With all these achievements, the school can boast of been “THE BEST” within the community and one of the best in Kumasi Metropolis.
