23/09/2021

Ten (10) years ago, was birthed, having been conceived for years. Vacation classes was organised for the schoolchildren of the Pramso community in December, not long after our official registration.

Unfortunately after that, we went into hibernation. However, since late 2017 until now, we've been awake, and up and doing. πŸ’ͺ🏿πŸ’ͺ🏿

We are grateful and thankful for all of you fine people who have supported us over the years. May God bless bless you all. Please keep supporting the PCR cause.

This 10 years anniversary will be celebrated. Watch this space for details. Thanks

There was some chilling too. When you have the chief servant of UBS Foods present with the Bosomtwe tilapia close By, then of course fufu for pae. So yes we did enjoy some UBS fufu flour

By God's grace, the maiden edition of the PCR August Experience experience came to an end on Friday the 27th of August. It was held at Abono in the Bosomtwe District of Ashanti. It was ran for 3 weeks.

We were test running the project to learn lessons for replication. Yes, we have learned those lessons (to be shared later). For now I share with you that it was very successful in spite of all the challenges we faced.

Team PCR is grateful God for life and providence. We are also grateful to our donors for their support. This programme would not have been possible without our willing and selfless volunteers. May God bless us allπŸ™πŸΏπŸ™πŸΏ.

The first week of the maiden edition of the PCR August Experience saw 3 grown-up and 4 young volunteers providing literacy lessons to about 50 schoolchildren.

The young volunteers were brought along largely to inspire the beneficiaries of the programme. However, they were able to help teach the young ones who couldn't write and/or identify the alphabets very well.
They were also brought along as a way of teaching and inculcating in them the spirit of volunteerism. These kids were helpful and also enjoyed themselves.

So the maiden edition of the PCR August Experience (vacation classes, focusing on literacy in the rural areas) began on 9th August 2021 at Abono as planned.

Volunteers arrived at Abono on the 9th August in the evening and lessons began the next day.

Since the JHS stream is still in school the programme was held for only the primary stream. KG pupils of 6 years and above could also join.

The first day's activities consisted of assessing them and categorizing them bases on their literacy skills.

We met them for 3 days in the first week and will continue next week until the end of August. The response so far is good. Attendance isn't bad although some of the kids may be dragged to the farm.

Volunteers are staying in the community during this period in accommodation provided by the community.

Enquiries and financial support can be channelled through 0249302534 (Positive Chain Reactions). Thanks
