Admission into Southern Polytechnic State University

Kumasi Polytechnic is inviting applications from interested students to undertake undergraduate programmes at the Southern Polytechnic State University, Georgia-United States.

The programmes on offer are:

A. Bachelor of Applied Science in Information Technology (BASIT)

- (Students will specialize in an 'applied' domain in upper level courses), Online-mode, post-HND level entry, with the option to transfer to Southern Polytechnic State University.

B. Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT)

- Online mode, fresher-level or post-HND level entry, with the option to transfer to Southern Polytechnic State University.

C. Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science (BSCS or BACS)

- Transfer to Southern Polytechnic State University after the 'preliminary' courses, fresher-level entry.

D. Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering (BSWE)

- Transfer to Southern Polytechnic State University after the 'preliminary' courses, fresher-level entry.

Entry Requirements:

For A:

HND, with at least 2nd Class Lower, from a Polytechnic institution in any of the 10 regions in the country.

For B, C, and D:

West African School Certificate – WAEC/WASSCE (showing at least five subjects passed at Ordinary Level or WASSCE), an official school transcript, and a copy of degree, diploma, or certificate.

General Certificate of Education (GCE) at Ordinary Level (showing at least five subjects passed), official school transcript of records, and a copy of degree, diploma, or certificate.

Teacher's Certificate "A" and an official school transcript of record.
Note: (All students are required to take thirty (30) credit hours at K-Poly, or other Polytechnics. TOEFL is NOT required).

A preparatory programme and other relevant basic courses starts in March, 2015 and ends in August, 2015.

PROFESSOR LOUIS MUNYAKAZI PASSES ON

Kumasi Polytechnic announces the death of Professor Louis Munyakazi, the Head of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. He was 59.
The late Professor Munyakazi died at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Kumasi, on Thursday 5th September, 2013 after a short illness.
A former Rwandan Government Statistician and lecturer at the University of Kwazulu Natal, South Africa, he was a Visiting Professor to Kumasi Polytechnic in May 2011 and opted to join the teaching staff in July after falling in love with Kumasi.
A one-week celebration will be organised at the New Great Hall, K-Poly, today, Thursday, 12th September, 2013.
A book of condolence will also be opened for signing by staff, students and sympathisers. All are cordially invited.
