We are thrilled to announce the graduation of eleven (11) talented skill trainees from St. Louise De Marillac Vocational Training Centre in collaboration with Safe-Child Advocacy!
Last Saturday, February 3, 2024, marked a truly beautiful moment as we celebrated the achievements of our graduates. Among them were nine (9) outstanding Dressmaking trainees and two (2) skilled Hairdressing trainees, all of whom excelled in the National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI) examination held last October.
This joyous occasion marked the eighth (8th) graduation ceremony held at the Saint Louise de Marillac Vocational Training Centre in Appaidu, dedicated to empowering young girls who have successfully completed their vocational training. Our facility, an offshoot of Safe-Child Advocacy under the Catholic Archdiocese of Kumasi, is owned and managed by the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul.
The ceremony was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including the Chief and Queen Mother of the Appiadu Traditional Council, Odefour Yaw Barima (II) and Nana Amonu Gyamfuaah (I), as well as Reverend Father Joseph Louise Antwi Boasiako, the Rector of Christ the Teacher College of Education, and the Assistant Parish Priest of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Appiadu.
We were also honored to have in attendance Honourable Micheal Aidoo, the New Patriotic Party’s Parliamentary aspirant for Oforikrom Constituency, the Assembly Member for Emena, Appiadu, Kokoben Electoral area, Honourable Ken Owusu Bediako and several members of the media.
Our talented graduands were presented with certificates and essential set-up kits to kick-start their businesses in their respective trades. Dressmaking graduates received sewing machines and other necessities, while Hairdressing graduates were equipped with hairdryers, washing basins, and various tools and materials to facilitate their entrepreneurial journey.
The presence of relatives and friends added to the joy and significance of this august occasion, as they witnessed the remarkable achievements of our graduates.
