BREAKING NEWS: Sheikh Mohammed Kamil Mohammed, the first deputy national imam of the Ahlussunna Wal Jama’a (ASWAJ) in Ghana, has formally rejected his purported suspension, describing the disciplinary process that led to the decision as unconstitutional and without legal effect.

In a letter dated July 28, 2026, written by his solicitor, Mr Hans E. Kofiadde, and addressed to the National Imam, Sheikh Umar Ibrahim Imam, the deputy national imam said he would continue to perform his constitutional duties while reserving the right to pursue legal and constitutional remedies.

The suspension was related to chaos that errupted during the Eid ul Adha prayers at the forecourt of the Statehouse.

Rasheed has taken 1st place overall in the 100m at the 2026 Spitzen Leichtathletik Luzern 🇨🇭 with a stellar time of 10.02s (0.0m/s)! Running in Heat B, Rasheed's time edged out Heat A winner Bayanda Walaza 🇿🇦 (compiled times) to secure the top spot on the podium.

Saminu Abdul Rasheed continues his European tour clocking 10.01s (-0.3m/s) to place 2nd in the 100m dash at the just ended 2026 Gyulai István Memorial (Hungarian Athletics Grand Prix). This took place in Budapest. See comment section for the official result link.

One more race for Rasheed before going the Ghana team in UK ahead of the 2026 Commonwealth Games.

Today, the 11th of Dhul Hijjah 1447H, we officially began the slaughtering of cows as part of the meat distribution for orphans under the care of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre.

This effort is part of the Joint Implementation Program for the Project of Supporting Orphaned Children and Their Guardians in Ghana, which was launched in September of last year.

We express our deepest thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the leadership and people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre for their ongoing humanitarian support and generosity toward vulnerable children and families in Ghana.

This noble project is fully funded by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre.

We pray that Allah blesses and protects the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, rewards the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia abundantly, and grants continued success to the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre in its service to humanity around the world.

May Allah accept this blessed act of charity and make it a source of goodness for all involved.
