A distinguished alumnus of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi (KNUST), Prof. Bernard Kumi-Boateng, has been appointed Vice-Chancellor of the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT), Tarkwa, effective August 1, 2026.
His academic foundation was shaped at KNUST, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Geomatic Engineering and a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Geomatic Engineering.

As cities and communities struggle with aging infrastructure and growing disruption risks, Amma Agyekum, a Ghanaian researcher is advancing data-driven approaches to help governments plan, prioritize, and protect transportation networks that communities rely on every day. Amma Agyekum, an alumna of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi (KNUST), is leading this work in the United States of America.
Amma is an awardee of the Margaret McNamara Education Grant (MMEG), a prestigious program administered through the World Bank that supports women from developing countries whose research are advancing knowledge and solving global problems.

The Advancement and Alumni Relations Office (AARO) of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, has launched its maiden Valentine’s Day alumni outreach initiative, dubbed “Valentine Rush,” aimed at strengthening alumni engagement and institutional partnerships.
As part of the initiative, the AARO team paid courtesy visits to selected corporate offices to engage alumni working in these institutions.

Samuel Obiri Yeboah, B.A. (’22), has been elected President of the National Union of Ghanaian Students (NUGS) UK Chapter.
Mr. Obiri Yeboah, who graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English, is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in International Business Management at Coventry University.
During his undergraduate studies, he served as SRC Presidential Envoy in 2019 and later as SRC Chief of Staff in 2022.
