On 25th March, the KNUST Career Services Centre hosted a training session for 3rd and final year Petroleum Engineering students at the Simulation Lab, College of Engineering. On 18th March, the KNUST Career Services Centre, in collaboration with the Faculty of Biosciences, hosted FDA, Blue Skies, and CSIR-FRI in an industry engagement session for final-year Biosciences students, offering guidance on career planning, industry expectations, and professional competencies.
Mrs. Selina Angmor Doe, Director of the KNUST Career Services Centre, highlighted the Centre’s role in connecting academic training with industry opportunities, helping students set goals, explore career options, and understand emerging skills and the importance of continuous professional development.
Professor Caleb Kesse Firempong, Head of the Department of Biosciences, emphasised bridging the gap between classroom learning and industry practice, guiding students to navigate careers confidently and develop the skills, mindset, and networks needed for success.
Professor Charles Tortoe, Chief Research Scientist at CSIR, showcased ongoing research projects in food processing and product development, encouraging students to explore local crops, transform ideas into businesses, and pursue careers in food technology, research, and entrepreneurship.
Mr. Roderick Kwabena Daddey Adjei, CEO of the FDA, stressed strict adherence to hygiene, quality control, and regulatory standards in food production, highlighting the importance of safe practices, supervision, and proper record-keeping.
Mr. Alistair Djimatey, Head of Brand Communication at Blue Skies, encouraged students to add value to Ghana’s agricultural resources through processing, marketing, and entrepreneurship, turning local produce into commercially viable products.
The session reinforced the importance of collaboration between academia, research institutions, and industry to equip students with the insights, skills, and connections needed to build successful careers in the food and biosciences sectors.

On 13th March 2026, the KNUST Career Services Centre organized a CV Writing and Interview Skills Training for final-year Civil Engineering students at the Lecture Theater, college of Engineering.
The session was facilitated by experienced trainers from the Centre, including the Director, Mrs. Selina Doe Angmor, and Miss Emmanuella Alorsor, who guided students on how to craft impactful CVs, effectively showcase their strengths, and approach interviews with confidence. The training also focused on professional presentation and practical tips for leaving a positive and lasting impression on potential employers.

On the 13th of March, The KNUST Career Services Centre, in collaboration with the Faculty of Built Environment, hosted the Ghana Chamber of Construction Industries in an industry engagement session for final-year Built Environment students, bringing together key industry voices.
Mrs. Selina Angmor Doe emphasised the Centre’s role in building leadership, creating opportunities, and guiding students, urging them to take advantage of available support and apply their knowledge in industry.
Professor Emmanuel Adinyira encouraged students to actively engage with professionals, highlighting the Faculty’s drive to move “from excellence to eminence” through industry collaboration.
Mr. Emmanuel Cherry stressed that success in the construction sector depends on collaboration across multiple professions and called for stronger links between academia and industry.
Surv. Reginald Obeng highlighted the need for practical exposure through internships and mentorship, noting the growing demand for skilled professionals in Ghana’s built environment sector.

On 12th March, the KNUST Career Services Centre welcomed the Association of Ghana Startups (AGS) for an interactive session with students, particularly those in IT-related fields and SMEs. The engagement also served to introduce the recently launched TechServe Employability Programme, a national service initiative by AGS aimed at recruiting and deploying women in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) roles into startups and SMEs across Ghana.
The TechServe Programme is being implemented by AGS in partnership with the AFOS Foundation and the WERise Network through the DigiVibe Project, with a focus on strengthening digital skills and improving employability outcomes for young women.
In his presentation, Mr. Solomon Adjei,president of AGS, encouraged students to explore entrepreneurship as a viable career path. He emphasized the importance of applying SWOT analysis to identify gaps, leverage strengths, and uncover opportunities for innovation.
The Director of the Career Services Centre, Selina Angmor, also addressed participants, highlighting the range of services offered by the Centre. She encouraged students to actively take advantage of these opportunities to enhance their career readiness and professional growth.
