The people of Ziope celebrated their annual Agbleza Festival in a colourful display of culture, unity, and community spirit. The festival brought together citizens, traditional leaders, and stakeholders with a shared commitment to the development of the Ziope community.

The celebration was graced by the Member of Parliament for Agotime–Ziope Constituency, Hon. Charles Agbeve, in the company of the District Chief Executive, Mr. Alfred Odikro.

Also in attendance were assembly members, chiefs, queen mothers, opinion leaders, clergymen, and cultural troupes who thrilled patrons with Borborbor and other traditional performances.

The main objective of Agbleza is to unite the people of Ziope and mobilize resources for the development of the community. Speakers encouraged residents to maintain peace and work together for sustainable progress.

As part of the fundraising efforts, Hon. Charles Agbeve, Mr. Alfred Odikro, the New Patriotic Party, other individuals and other well-wishers donated towards the construction of a Traditional Council edifice.

Awards were presented to the winner and runner ups for the pageantry show(Miss Agbleza) done on Friday 11th of September,2026.

It will interest you to know that the winner and the 2nd runner up were learners from Ziope Senior High School.

However, we humbly appeal to the planning committe to consider the following:
•time consciousness
•involve the senior high school, at least we can provide ushers for the event
• quiz and debate competition among schools in the Ziope enclave, spoken word in Ewe about the history of the festival.

*MP DONATES CORN MILL TO ZIOPE SHS.*

The Member of Parliament for the Agotime-Ziope Constituency, Hon. Charles Akwasi Agbeve, in the company of the DCE of the good people of Agotime-ziope district, Hon. Odikro, the Assembly member of Ziope electoral area, Hon. Seth Adorvlo and other executive members of the NDC party visited Ziope Senior High School (ZIOSEC) to donate a corn mill to the school.

The donation, which forms part of efforts to support the welfare and development of students, is expected to assist the school in its food preparation and feeding arrangements.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Agbeve also announced plans to support the school with the construction of an assembly hall, an administration block and other essential infrastructure. The proposed projects are expected to address some of the infrastructural needs of the school and create a more conducive environment for teaching, learning and administration.

The District Chief Executive (DCE), Mr. Odikro, was also present at the event. In his remarks, the DCE expressed his commitment to the development of Ziope Senior High School.
He said, plans have been advanced for the re-awarding of the school’s kitchen contract to a new contractor, this project is a legacy project in the school.

The proposed kitchen is expected to improve the school’s cooking and catering facilities and enhance the general welfare of students.

The Headmaster, Mr. Forgive Agoha speaking on behalf of the Board of Governors, School management, staff and students expressed appreciation to both the Member of Parliament and the DCE for their interventions and commitment to the development of the school.

The event therefore marked an important step in strengthening collaboration between the school and local leadership, with the various commitments expected to contribute significantly to the improvement of infrastructure and student welfare at Ziope Senior High School.
