On the 29th June, 2025, the Student Representative Council (S.R.C) had a significant meeting with the regional minister regarding the recent demonstration concerning UHAS's use of our lecture hall for accreditation purposes.
During our discussion, we shared our concerns about how UHAS's actions have impacted our academic environment, causing disruptions for both students and faculty. We are grateful to the regional minister for being receptive to our concerns and for recognizing the importance of dialogue in seeking a suitable resolution.
We explored various alternatives and strategies that would allow the School of Hygiene to meet its accreditation requirements while minimizing disruptions. The regional minister has kindly given UHAS until the end of December to vacate the premises, allowing our Hygiene students to transition to their new facility early next January.
Additionally, the minister assured us that he would address the issue concerning diploma students who have been denied the opportunity to undertake their national service.
We appreciate the minister's commitment to resolving these matters and look forward to a positive outcome
_Thank you_
