Ghana’s digital future depends on trust. And trust requires action. 🔐🌍
Academic City University, in partnership with the Institute of ICT Professionals, Ghana (IIPGH) and the Cyber Security Authority, Ghana, has released a new white paper, Securing Trust in Ghana’s Digital Future: Accountability, Awareness and Action.
The report comes at a critical time, following more than GHS19.3 million in cybersecurity-related financial losses recorded in 2025 and thousands of reported cyber incidents.
The white paper calls for stronger accountability, public awareness, digital literacy and coordinated action across government, academia, industry and civil society to build a safer and more trusted digital ecosystem.

Key recommendations include:

🔹 Greater transparency in ICT procurement
🔹 A National Digital Trust Framework
🔹 Expanded cybersecurity education and professional training
🔹 Stronger collaboration between government, academia and industry

All work and no play? Not !
As part of the ETHOS Programme, our ACity students and their peers from the University of Dayton took a break from labs, prototypes, and project deadlines for a memorable trip to Cape Coast.

From exploring Ghana’s rich history and culture to experiencing its vibrant tourism landscape, the trip offered another kind of learning, the kind that happens beyond the classroom.
Because global collaboration isn't just about building projects together. It’s also about sharing cultures, discovering new perspectives, creating memories, and enjoying the journey along the way.
Build together. Learn together. Explore together.

The fall armyworm is threatening maize production across Africa, but one Academic City student used technology to help tackle the problem.

Meet Mohammed, a final-year computer engineering student from the class of 2026 who built a locally adaptable agricultural drone to help detect Fall Armyworm infestations.

Built with open-source technology
Designed with locally available components
Made with Ghanaian conditions in mind

But how does it work? And what inspired Mohammed to build it?
