Motivation
A great man once said if you
take all the money in the world and distribute them equally among people
after a while all the -monies will go back to their original owners, the RICH. Why?

The poor are
mainly consumers and the rich are mainly investors.

Show me a POOR man and I'll show you a man who
P - Passes O - Over O - Opportunities R - Repeatedly.

A man who sees challenges in every opportunity instead of seeing opportunity in every challenge.

One major challenge POOR people have is "LACK OF ACTION!"

They enjoy their comfort zone, dwelling and swimming in their "own type of knowledge".
Anything beyond their reason "can't work, and therefore it is fraudulent"

Remember: It's RISKY to take a RISK, but it's even RISKIER not to take any risk at all...

*BE POSITIVE*
*BE SMART*
*BE PRO-ACTIVE*

*Learn to try out new things*
*The world is not ruled only by prayer warriors but by mental warriors who act and push with all they have*

TEACHER MOTIVATION MUST BE REVIEWED TO RESTORE TEACHER DIGNITY

I had always had problem with the term teacher motivation being used in Ghana. Even the teacher does not know what will motivate him or her to unleash his full potential in the classroom. Many teacher unions have made several proposals to government requesting teacher motivation from the employer (government). Government has on several platform promise to inject quality into the educational sector through teacher motivation as one of the steps.
The question is 'what do the stakeholders mean when they promise or demand teacher motivation?'

My opinion is that motivation is not always about accepting or adding GHC 10.00 or GHC 20.00 to the teacher's salary and scoring political point for it.

What we must do
1. The dignity of the teacher must be taken into account in order to attract well meaning Ghanaians and scholars into the field of teaching.
2. Right from basic schools to the senior High level, government must put up teacher villa in a form of flats or decent housing with modern facilities and environment (clean water, electricity, internet, motorable roads ) at the so called remote areas where most teachers fail to accept postings as a result of poor housing system, electricity, water etc. and subsequently across the nation.

3. Provision of facilities that will aid teaching and learning and make instructional hours effective, efficient and beneficial to students. There is no sense in giving one laptop to every child when the school has no computer laboratory or the teacher has no pedagogical skills in the use of ICT tools. Technical and vocational centres stock with facilities must be established in all schools or nearby centres for easy accessibility. Science lab must be established.
4. Attractive salary and allowances must be giving to the teacher and on time.

Again, teaching is the only job that workers do not enjoy week ends and holidays because lesson notes will always be staring on the poor teachers face. The work is so tedious that a teacher barely have time to enjoy holidays. You work at school and continue at home. Review the whole work by introducing ICT assisted tools and applications to help make the work less difficult.

For me this is the best motivation a serious government can give to teachers in Ghana.
