We wish you luck in your exams.
Here are some tips to get you prepared for your exams.✍️✍️✍️
1. CHOOSE A COMFORTABLE TIME AND PLACE
It is important to make sure that you are in the right headspace when you want to study. If you can’t concentrate, trying to study might feel frustrating and you will make slower progress. Try to find somewhere quiet with natural light. This could be at home, in school or outdoors, depending on where you feel you can focus best.
2. SET A SCHEDULE
Even though it is tempting to try to learn everything quickly the night before a test, this is not the best way to remember information.
It is better to prepare a schedule in advance beforehand. For example, you could study for half an hour a day in the week leading up to the test.
Planning when you are going to study will also help you to fit it in around other responsibilities that you might have, such as a job or helping at home.
3. BREAK INFORMATION INTO CHUNKS
When you first look at everything you need to know for a test, it can feel overwhelming.
If you feel this way, you could try breaking the information up into sections and learn them one by one.
By doing this the information will build up in your brain without becoming confused.
4. PRACTISE MAKES PERFECT
Reading over your notes can help you to remember facts but it is also important to learn how to apply them.
If you are under-confident with maths, for example, it can be a good idea to learn a concept and then practise some exercises. This means that you can find out what you still don’t know and go back over it.
5. TAKE BREAKS!
It might seem counter-intuitive, but taking breaks gives your mind the chance to refresh itself and lets you come back the next day ready to learn again.
It is recommended to take a 5-minute break every 45 minutes, to make sure that you can stay alert and motivated.
