CHARLES OBIRI-YEBOAH: RESILIENCE AND DEDICATION IN TEACHING

"Even though I am physically challenged…it has not impeded my way of discharging my duties as a teacher."

For Charles Obiri-Yeboah, teaching is both a passion and a calling shaped by resilience. Born in Akim Anyinase in the Eastern Region, his journey began at Komenda College of Education, where he earned his Teacher’s Certificate ‘A’ in 2002. From his early days at Akim Manso Presby Primary School, he became known for diligence, punctuality, and his commitment to learners’ welfare—personally visiting parents to address truancy and improve attendance.

At Freeman Methodist JHS, Charles’s creativity shone. He blended practical experiences such as visits to palaces and cultural sites with classroom lessons, nurturing confidence and curiosity among his students. In 2015, he moved to St. Thomas Senior High Technical School, where despite living with a physical disability, he has continued to inspire both learners and colleagues. “Even though I am physically challenged…it has not impeded my way of discharging my duties as a teacher,” he mentions.

Beyond the classroom, Charles serves as a House Master and committee member for Chaplaincy, Music, Drama, and Culture. His innovations include using laptops, mobile devices, and Bluetooth speakers to enliven lessons and introducing recycling initiatives to instill environmental responsibility.

Charles Obiri-Yeboah’s story is one of resilience, innovation, and community spirit—a reminder that true teaching is not limited by circumstance but fueled by unwavering dedication to learners’ growth.
