From Kotoka International Airport, we journeyed through the lush green hills to our home for the next few days CK Memorial Lodge in Apirede, Akropong. The fresh mountain air and quiet surroundings instantly felt like a peaceful retreat after our long flight.
Uncle Ato drove some of our cases up the mountain. We had a lot of cases!

🌍 Day 1 – Arrival in Ghana: “Akwaaba!” 🇬🇭
✨ And it came to pass… that the journey began!
After months of planning, dreaming, and packing, our Beyond Books Intergenerational Learning Family finally touched down in Accra, Ghana greeted with smiles, songs, and the warmth that only Ghana can give.
From Kotoka Airport to the winding roads leading to Adukrom, excitement filled the air, generations travelling together, ready to learn, serve, and explore.
We ended the evening gathered for our first meal together: Jollof rice, chicken, and salad. We were tired but grateful, reflecting on how far we’ve come and how much we’re about to experience.
A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step and ours began with a plate of Jollof and a heart full of purpose. 🌿✨
