She’s best known for creating the Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), which is crucial for how computer networks operate! Without STP, redundant links in networks would cause infinite loops, bringing down the entire system. Her work made it possible for large-scale, robust networks, including the internet, to function reliably. Beyond STP, she also made significant contributions to other areas of network design and security, holding over 100 patents and co-authoring a widely used textbook on network security!

🔬 “A teaspoon of neutron star would weigh about 6 billion tons.”

✅ Here’s the science behind it:
A neutron star is the remnant of a massive star that has exploded in a supernova. What’s left is an ultra-dense core made almost entirely of neutrons. The gravity compresses the matter so tightly that:

1 cubic centimeter (about the size of a sugar cube) of neutron star matter weighs roughly 400 million tons (400,000,000,000 kg).

So, a teaspoon (about 5 cubic centimeters) would weigh around 2–6 billion tons, depending on the specific density.

🌍 To compare:
The Great Pyramid of Giza weighs about 6 million tons.

A teaspoon of neutron star would weigh 1,000 times more than that.
