Teshie Presbyterian Senor High School Army Cadet Corps is a school based cadet training unit. It is the icon of Cadet in the Greater Accra Region. ii. i. II. III.
SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL ARMY CADET CORPS shortly known as Presec Teshie Cadet Corps is a school based paramilitary uniformed training unit established under the Teshie Presbyterian Senior High School's Physical Education Department in the year 2008 by it first Commandant and Head teacher at that time Madam Valencia Quame with Mr. Herbert Mensah assigned as the first Master-In-Charge and Cadet Captain E
mmanuel Awuku as it first Commanding Officer starting with a handful of forty student cadets and provision of uniforms and logistics made available to suit the forming membership. In 2014 it was affiliated under the Greater Accra Cadet Corps and gain inauguration in 2015 by Lt Col E.B Nymur the Commander Rear on behalf Lt Col R.Kinney the Commander of the 48 Engineers Regiment of the Ghana Armed Forces which appointed the Regiment as the mother unit of the cadet corps. A Field Brass Band is established attached to the Cadet Corps. Since 2010,the Teshie Presbyterian Senior High School Army Cadet Corps has become the most successful cadet corps in the Greater Accra region. The Corps won the maiden edition of the Greater Accra Cadet Corps Drill Competition in the year 2014 with the Contingent Commander awarded the Best Commander. The Corps' participation the third Southern Sector Drill Competition named them the only representative of the Greater Accra region in that Competition held Ho in February,2016.The Corps become the first runner up at third Greater Accra regional Drill Competition. The Current Commandant of the Cadet Corps is Madam Valencia Quame with Mr.Sefa Safo Benjamin and Mr. Offei Koranteng as the Senior Master-in-Charge and Master-in-Charge2 respectively. The Corps is presently under the training command of Lt(NCC) Daniel Oppong(Chief Training Instructor of Central Region Cadet Corps Ghana). AIMS/MISSION STATEMENTS
i. to help promote academic excellence tasking student cadets to develop the desire and love for being studious and also achieving academic success in the school. to develop in students of the school qualities of leadership values
iii. to promote physical fitness and sports among students
iv. to insist in students the spirit of patriotism and good citizenship by offering a training for cadets to follow school rules, working in teamwork and having the desire of honoring symbols of our country
v. to promote educate basic military knowledge so as student can appreciate the role play by the various security institutions in the society
VISIONS
i. to become the largest school cadet corps in the Southern Sector of Ghana and to be transformed into an organizational cadet corps
ii. to be recognize nationwide as a feeding instrument of officer cadets into the various security units academically
iii. to gain recognition as a youth development program capable of training students to be academically fit and promote academic excellence helping to meet United Nations Sustainable Goal four thus

ACTIVITIES : Teshie Presbyterian Senior High School Army Cadet Corps carries on attractive educational, vocational adventurous programs. Such of which include sporting activities (athletics, football, handball, volleyball, table tennis and netball), parade drill, dramatic and musical programs. Annual Internal Camping, hiking, fitness challenges, excursion and jungle expeditions are also conducted by the corps. I n terms of academics, spelling bees, quiz, Essay and Debate writing competitions are also organized by the corps. In guidance the corps also organizes life coaching programs in addition to the trainings. DEPARTMENTS
Teshie Presbyterian Senior High School Army Cadet Corps' membership is grouped into squads and three companies (houses) for proper functioning of the cadet corps. The companies include;
a)ALPHA COMPANY b)BRAVO COMPANY c)CHARLIE COMPANY
The Corps also expose its members to some educational, fitness and moral corps, clubs and societies. Such include;
I. BRASS BAND: this is a Field brass band/brigade with the responsibility of serving as a musical corps. CHAPLAINT CORPS: this is the unit established under the corps with responsibility of offering religious services(prayer) and moral support to the Cadet Corps. The membership of this department is opened to all student cadets of the three main religions in Ghana(Christianity, Islam and African Traditional Religion and sometimes Judaism). ACADEMIC INTERLLIGENCE AND RESOURCE CORPS :This the department responsible for handling academic affairs and organizing academic programs such as seminars, quizes, essay writing and debate competitions among the Companies and discourage examination malpractices within the corps. These are the clubs formed under this department; a. Debate Club b. Essay Writing Club and Science and Maths Club. ALL FEMALE CONTIGENT-This is a club formed to serve as a Girl-Child Education Club to help education especially the female membership of the Corps on some issues and problems of adolescence thus being chaste, prevention of teenage pregnancy and early marriage, menstruation and others. IV. SPORTING CLUB: this is a department and club entitled to handling physical fitness and sporting activities within the corps. It also serves as the corps' Sporting Team. This department is divided into two units thus Physical Fitness Unit and the Sporting Club. The Sporting Club represented the Corps in the Regional Cadet Corps Alpha Wing Sports Competition in June, 2013 winning the ultimate prize. AIMS OF PHYSICAL FITNESS AND SPORTING CLUB
· Develop a healthy spirit for competitive sports
· to create a platform to help develop mental, moral, physical and social skills
· to build on the sportive talents of student cadets in order to introduce great sportsmanship persons
· to develop in student cadets the ability and well to continues exercising
The Physical Fitness Unit's field subjects include jogging, walking, stretching and exercising all body parts while Sporting Club is attracted to athletics(throwing, jumping, distance races),games(football, volleyball, tennis, handball, table tennis) and dance movement.
