Meet Michael Kweku Kissi Darko, a passionate problem solver, Valedictorian, and the Best Overall Undergraduate Student of the School of Technology and Social Sciences at GIMPA, graduating with a BSc in Computer Science with First-Class Honors with a CGPA of 3.91.
Michael’s journey up the slopes of Green Hill was defined by continuous learning, versatility, and a commitment to using technology for real-world impact. He was a true all-rounder, expertly balancing the rigorous demands of full-stack software development with the physical dedication required to proudly represent GIMPA on both the hockey and football pitches.
Driven by curiosity and a relentless work ethic, Michael dedicated countless hours beyond the lecture halls to sharpening his programming skills and bringing impactful ideas to life. He proved his mettle in high-stakes environments, securing impressive victories at both the StudentPrenuer Hackathon and the Global Entrepreneurship Festival Hackathon, as well as claiming third place at the GIMPA Tech Fair. Beyond competing, he demonstrated his leadership by serving as a core GIMPA Tech Fair organizer.
For Michael, education has always been about creating tangible change. He actively built tools to improve campus life—successfully developing GIMPA’s official timetable manager website and a student complaint tracking system. Alongside these campus innovations, he gained invaluable industry exposure through a professional internship with Ecobank's E-process software department.
Every late-night coding session, group presentation, and match on the pitch contributed to the resilience and leadership he carries today. As he steps into his next phase as an aspiring Software, AI, and Cybersecurity Engineer, Michael remains deeply committed to lifelong learning and to building digital solutions that positively impact communities across Ghana and beyond.
Graduation marks the culmination of an incredible journey, but more importantly, the beginning of an exciting future filled with purpose, innovation, and service.
