Last week, Palm University College, in partnership with ESDEV Foundation Africa and the Portuguese Quantum Institute (PQI), hosted a landmark Youth Outreach Programme at our Shai Hills campus to celebrate World Quantum Day 2026.

This was more than just a celebration; it was a move from awareness to action. We are proud to have hosted the official launch of Quantum@School Ghana and the inauguration of Ghana’s first university-based Quantum Club; a bold step toward building a national ecosystem for quantum education and innovation.

We were honored to have Prof. Yasser Omar, President of PQI and Coordinator of World Quantum Day as our Keynote Speaker. As a global leader who helped establish this movement in over 65 countries, his presence inspired our students to see themselves as the next generation of scientists and problem-solvers.

Through this new club and initiative, Palmers and young innovators will now have access to:
• Early exposure to transformative tech
• Global mentorship
• A scalable pathway to future careers in science

This is just the beginning of our vision to grow Quantum Clubs across Ghana and Africa. The future is quantum, and it started today at Palm.
